This is like Knowing Ace was defeated by BB but we never see Ace in the story after that.

Nothing against Kid and Law but the reason why the fight against Big Mom probably wasn't focused that much is because this wasn't a SH fight.

If this was Luffy vs Big Mom, I'm pretty sure Oda would have given the fight way more focus.

I doubt Oda will have her fight Luffy after Kaido, my guess for a while has been she goes there with intent of getting her reputation back but changes her mind as she learns of what happened

That's the case with every fight in the series. Even other Strawhats only get 1-2 chapter fights while Luffy gets 5-6 full chapters of fighting.
