This felt more like a transition chapter than a Luffy chapter. Regardless it was still good to have an update on what the characters are doing.
Zunisha is ready to fight, so if that happens on panel, then I think it will look cool! I was really thinking that Joy Boy was Luffy, but Yamato’s comment about Momo being the one to lead the world to its dawn has me questioning my stance.
Speaking of Momo, I like how he still has his struggles. The aging Momo plot isn’t my favorite, but I like how Shinobu only physically aged him. I like how he doesn’t have instant confidence and is questioning Wano’s future. I think this will make him a good shogun because he will analyze all possible options before making a decision.
I am still in disbelief that the Raizo vs Fuku battle actually ended. Congratulations to Raizo!
I really loved Hyori this chapter. I think it’s great how she used a seastone nail on Orochi. I enjoyed her flashback with Oden. I still think Hyori deserves a lot of credit for staying behind in Wano while Kaido and Orochi ruled the country. I wonder if she’s going to be the one who beheads Orochi.
Izo is on a mission to take down CP-0, and he is looking like a badass! CP-0 is definitely surprised that their orders have changed. Now they need to eliminate Luffy. I still think that Sanji will protect Luffy from them. On the other hand, this could be the perfect time for evil Sanji. Instead of protecting Sanji from CP-0 he turns Luffy in instead. Then Zoro has to fight Sanji, which seems to be something some sections of the fandom have wanted since WCI.
Franky rescued Zoro, but we still don’t know if the latter is alive. I still have so many questions about the Grim Reaper. It is quite possible that it was Zoro hallucinating, but I am not sure. There’s a part of me that wants Zoro to actually be dead because I want to see how the SHs react to his death.
Kidd and Law are exhausted after their battle, which was expected.
I like how Luffy is amazed that Kidd and Law defeated Big Mom! I like how Big Mom was a mentor for young Kaido. I hope we get a Rocks flashback soon. Rocks may be strong but he doesn’t have the respect of his crew the way other captains do. I find that fascinating. I think Luffy is supposed to surpass Rocks by having an immensely powerful crew that respects his leadership.
The panels of Luffy’s gear 4 hydra was sick! I wish we could have had more! I think next chapter will continue our Luffy vs Kaido fight.
