Sabo quite frankly doesn't have the tools to threaten Akainu imo.

Sabo is at a natural disadvantage which should make a good challenge to overcome.
And he should be an excellent hand-to-hand fighter as well as using a weapon.
His haki is also excellent. Cant comment on what Dragon has to offer though.

I don’t think any of the Admirals will be stronger then Kaido or whatever but there’s a real chance that Akainu > Big Mom will be a thing.
