Threads like this just demonstrate that people not only misunderstand ZKK, they are also willing to toss aside years of narrative build up and kaido's core character theme that revolves around death.
Defeating kaido was never the actual solution to wano's problems. Kaido has been defeated 7 times before, why would a new defeat suddenly stop him from continuing to pursue his goals?
Because he will be defeated by joyboy? Newsflash - Kaido has already come to terms with the fact that he isn't joyboy. He even wanted to see if Luffy would become joyboy himself.
When yamato said she would drive kaido out of wano what was Kaido's reply? He said that he will settle for no place else because of how special it is.
The world's strongest creature, an emperor of the sea, someone who no longer considers himself joyboy, will somehow become mindbroken by his 8th defeat because he got defeated by a Luffy who is likely about to completely gas out himself as well... Sure
Also this whole thing about no one being able to outshine the MC. Why?
Why does Oda have to stick with the same formula for every single arc? Why are people so against the fact that he could possibly break the mold for the single arc that is inherently tied to samurai and swordsmen?
Zoro's lineage is at the very least indirectly tied to this land. Him even being in wano could be an act of fate as kawamatsu and hyogoro mentioned.
Zoro didn't just inherit oden's will through enma to defeat a masked lunarian, there's something grander at play here.
