Kaido vs Shanks at full health is already a extreme diff in Kaido's favor. Any type of significant nerf and it should be impossible for Kaido to defeat Shanks especially when he himself hypes him up in such a significant way.

I think it will be a more buffed and more dragonlike transformation especially with the face more like his full dragonform .
I mean picture it the roof would be full of black lightning
But more instinct driven.
Even more durable because of his skin .
I would not even wonder if he could fire blast breaths from his hand or windsycthes this could be a fatal surprise attack .

I guess awakening is like enlightening. That there's a certain level of maturity needed for the DF itself to be realized. Luffy has reached the highest level of spirit in the three shades of Haki, and he's mentally and physically at his best.
