I too am not sure what you're getting at. Pan isn't talking about some ideal Europe; he's talking about what he thinks/knows Europe is, and he isn't necessarily wrong although there is more to Europe than what he was describing, which is what I was pointing out.

He was joking. I understand that you didn't find it humorous but it's not that deep. Also, his idea of europeanizing Russia, which is already a part of Europe, is to introduce positive aspects of the rest of Europe to Russia. That's not even remotely the same as colonizing.

One more thing is, that Germany isn't the face of Europe—So Pan is wrong there. They have other big names like France, Russia, the UK, etc. Europeanization is actually a thing, btw.

Yeah, Russia is transcontinental—most of the Russian land is in Asia but it is mostly inhabitable. The majority of Russians live on the European side of the country.

Well, the US is still a part of America so there is nothing really wrong with calling them Americans. And there is nothing to feel offensive about as he's clearly talking about the Americans from the US.
