He brings Roger up as an example of his point, "ability" isn't the key to conquest, but haki, "it surpasses all"
Follow by his new attack
No wonder Kaido wanting to face a strong samurai. He's looking for a swordsman that can recreate Roger level skills and technique.

How strong was Oden? How much did he grow after he joined Roger pirates? Oden is still nothing compared to Ryuma.

More Ryuma hype.
:finally:

Hello, long time no see. Good to know you are same as usual.

Doesn't matter if he ignores new power up in this chapter...he still remembered the old power up...at the end, it is still good...:kayneshrug:
The old power ups are useless. The game changer here against Kaido is Gear 5 / awakening which is DF centric. Just like the fight against Doffy, the game changer was Gear 4, which is DF centric.

Luffy is just carried by his devil fruit. Without Gomu Gomu / Nika, he is a jobber.

HA001

World's Strongest Swordsman
False, lmao.

Luffy had weaker haki than Katakuri, which was specified repeatedly in their mirror match type battle, and still had the correct proficiency to win in HIS specific fight barring that fact. He had worse FS and CoA, and still was able to win with Snakeman.

That alone proves that sword skill and haki output are different ingredients for a fight. You do not have to be a stronger haki user to be a better swordsman. I would 100% expect Mihawk to outclass anyone in swordsmanship. I do not expect Mihawk to directly win every single top tier fight if "Haki is King" as Kaido implies here.

He's never beaten Shanks lol, and he never beat Roger, so you can choke on that one for a while.
That's irrelevant to swordsmen
Luffy trained and got a form to have more force > break haki
In the end that wasn't enough and he needed to upgrade haki
Meanwhile all zoros teachers and power ups have been "swordsmanship"

And they were

Koshiro - concept of ryou HAKI
mihawk - coating blades HAKI
kozaburo - controlling swords overflowing coa and Coc HAKI

Swordsmanship is haki on sword
Mihawk haki on sword is the strongest

During Zoro's battle with King, Kawa mention how Zoro looks like Ryuma, the famous dragon slayer, and belief that's fate. Yet, you and others just completely dismiss it like it doesn't mean anything.
Except Kawamatsu never said "Zoro looks like Ryuma, who killed a dragon" in that statement. He said they look a like, that's all. And it was in regards to him fighting King in that moment. Ryuma was the savior of Wano. Zoro too, will be a savior of Wano for his victory against King. That is the parallel you are looking for.
