Reading it vol format will be nice seeing it from beginning to end .

this chap was basically a kaido flex chapter , dominated most of the chap
came back and matched up pretty well to gear 5
seems like luffy is taking much less damage in this form than prev forms tho.

I totally think the following is happening:

- Kaido attacks Luffy with his final move, this dissipates the clouds above Luffy, clearing the sky.

- Momo moves Onigashima out of the way

- The lanterns rise up in the sky

- We get 2 full double spreads of Luffy punching Kaido. 1 for the Impact. 1 for a double spread of Wano witnessing that fist crashing down on Wano while the lanterns rise up in the sky.


I think all of this can very well happen next chapter.

But I am really disappointed with most turns this fight took since 1042.

If Luffy's island level attack coated in koka, adcoa and adcoc with lightning can't end Kaido
Then what more?

The arc becomes just a drag and boring
A total mess and miss
Nobody needs another Kaido's victory
It is pointless, Kaido is already top 1 per feats
There's a limit to everything
Oda needs to end the arc and this battle for his own sake.

Apparently Kaido and Zoro are nemesis and parallel each other, the tards that have been quoting that and jerking their microscopic dicks won't like this and disregard the whole thing now.

He usually punches the villain and destroys something important about the arc at the same time.

So him aiming both Kaido and Onigashima is not a good omen for Kaido.

Ya, I think people are just in denial with how Oda draws villains until they just lose to finishing blows. Kaido is on the verge of being done. It's been a long fight. And a well deserved finish at this rate. The Yonko has proved his worth to the story, it's a good end.

I really like @EtenBoby 's interpretation of the whole thing. It implies at least Kaido should have 1 more massive move to dish out to Luffy before he throws that punch at Kaido. Plus, Momo clearly needs whatever time to actually resolve his weaknesses and move the island.


I'd even say it's safe to say 1048 is probably, finally "Luffy vs Kaido", with their final 2 attacks being the major focus. I do question that if we are meant to see a flashback, when would it happen lol? It is interesting it hasn't occurred yet. Maybe it's just combined with Yamato or something if she's meant to join.

Probably Kaido gets a flashback when he's beaten
Oda been writing bis flashback differently
We gets bits by bits from King, from himself

Next chapter will focus on Momo carrry the island away so it will take about 5-10 pages

Which will give kaido time to perform bis finisher to try counter Luffy's
