It's not really "hating" in most cases, it's just acknowledging that the pacing has been atrocious.
We've been on Wano for 4 years now (aka 140 chapters) and there are still quite a lot of chapters left.
Not to mention that Oda is really stalling the Luffy-Kaido fight right now. This is now the fourth chapter in a row (!) that doesn't really drive the plot forward and ends with almost the exact same cliffhanger like in the previous three chapters - none of those led to anything.
Ya, irrespective of how this "clash" finishes (whether it's the climactic end or continues), 1046 to now 1049 is odd because it's essentially all on the idea that Kaido is on the verge of dropping the island. Heavily becomes dramatic/dragging when it's central to that.
I mean, sure, none of these chapters are fully focused on Luffy's fight and he did address a few things in each (The mansion fire with Raizo, Lanterns/citizens, Orochi/Hiyori/Denjiro), but when it's spread out over a month it gets a little ridiculous lol.
At least it's (mostly) over on that end. The only thing left is to actually have Momo move the island properly (if that missing page 2 didn't address it). I guess we'll see how 1049 plays out in the end.
