Doflamingo is a cliche villain. People hate cliche heroes but same time like villains with cliche villain traits.
He's much more elaboratated than Kaido, how's he a cliché?
Doflamingo had an insight on his childhood, upbringing, pirate growth, dichtomomy with his brother, shades on his behavior and trauma etc... That is honestly unparalleled in the manga (at least when it comes to villains).
After Dressrosa I thought
"Wow, imagine how will Oda handle Kaido & Linlin, the Emperors!" but turns out that Linlin before and Kaido now are simply not
that bell built.
Oda went all for the strenght route with them.
