Made with corn starch.

Steamed rice cake. Can be eaten as a meal or a snack. A lot of times I just eat it by itself as a snack.

Fried yam. Goes great with a spicy stew.

This + fufu = taste buds jumping for joy. Can also eat it with rice or on its own.

This is a type of way to grill chicken. Koklo is how you say chicken in my native language.

This is a dessert made with couscous and yogurt. There isn't a special type of yogurt you use, you have to make your own. My mom mixes sour cream, vanilla Greek yogurt, whole milk, vanilla extract, and a whole lotta sugar. This is my favorite African dessert. It tastes so good. Served best when cold. Goes great with some ice cubes in it too.

There are different varieties of degue but this is my favorite version.

Akume is the white paste and the ademe is the green sauce.

One of my favorites. It has a tougher texture than the other staples I showed. It's almost always eaten as the picture indicates. Generally has sardines included too.

One of my favorite snacks. It has a tough exterior but it's chewy on the inside.

Jollof is the top and ayimolou is the bottom.

Jollof goes great with koklo meme. Ayimalou goes great with egg and fried fish.

Btw, this is how you pronounce some of these: Foo-foo, jen-koo-meh, deh-geh, ah-koo-meh, ah-deh-meh, ah-yee-moh-loo. Rest are pronounced as they look.

lol was about to write exactly the same^^
African foods aren't really that common anywhere else but well, Africa. If you want to try these, you can either find an African restaurant (make sure it has West African food cause East African food isn't the same), get invited to have dinner with an African person you may know, or well, just go to Africa but I understand it isn't just that simple lol.

Wait @Dragomir you're African?
I'm surprised
Yes, why?

Oooo did I hear the words "braised pork rice"?

Had some last Tuesday along with other side dishes.
Remind me to recommend you some of the best 滷肉飯 / 爌肉飯 places in Taiwan. (next time you visit)
You won't be disappointed!
Whoa that looks so good I’m jealous
and yess recommend me some places if you know any in the Taipei area, cuz I don’t know any places other than 鬍鬚張 🥲
Are you a fan of 肉圓?
Of course! They’re so good
There’s a store that’s like 50+ y/o in Keelung that I used to go to. We’d do a food crawl and go get 大腸麵線 after

:yearight:
Now I’m hungry 😂

I´d have bet all my money on her being a total fruit person *Kiwi, Kiwi, Kiwi* :milaugh:
Hahaha ppl will kill me if I post cursed images of kiwi used in cooking 😭
@Kiwipom what is in that boba?
Boba is like the Asian version of a milkshake tbh 😂
It’s milk tea with tapioca (which is kinda like a jelly thing)

Quesada aragonesa

I’ll be honest I never really understood chicken and waffles haha. Do you like eat the chicken with the waffle at the same time as like a garnish or eat it separately?
