We didn't see him when the Charlotte family arrived, but maybe he's recovering from the Luffy fight.

Is he back on WCI or should I get my hopes up for an appearance

Katakuri is not in Wano, he's probably just chilling in WCI. He should already have recovered to full health. Luffy didn't take long to recover and the same should also apply to Katakuri.

Big Mom and her crew are really an exception within OP antagonists. She is the only main antagonist who get not only one but also four songs sang either by her or about her, and Katakuri and Perospero have both sung a song.
