Ill answer your question with another question for you, why should you be concerned about someone's rating of your posts? Does it ruin your day? Do you want to log off when someone disagrees with you? Does your world turn upside down if so and so dislikes your post because you think x is stronger than y or because you like x and someone doesn't?

I understand if not a fan of ratings and like it how things are but I think some ya are kinda exaggerating a bit by making it seem like adding other ratings is gonna turn the sky red and worst gen will cease to exist

The waiting room culture is characterised by openness, people can post there whatever they want but the danger of everything going downhill and turning toxic is always imminent.
The toxic aspect of the waiting room must not be encouraged with anything such as a negative rating option.
As long as the toxicity is kept at bay, it's a good place with enjoyable discussions.
The same goes for the spoiler threads and many of the semi-troll/entertainment threads.

Not being concerned about someone's opinion of mine is the answer, doesn't really matter if I've been there or not. I'm not taking stock in someone or multiple people disagreeing with me because at the end of the day is their opinion and I'm a adult to realize that. Can it become toxic? Yeah but that's anywhere where fandoms exist, toxicity will breed regardless of ratings or not. So again I'll ask you, why should you be concerned about someone's ratings off yours?

And for the record, I do not think it’d be a toxicity problem. It’s just completely unnecessary and we can make do with likes while we’re a small forum.

True but you will also get likes from those same view points from people who agree with you. At the end of the day which are you gonna give more credence too? The people who disagree with you or those that agree with you? I've yet to see anyone be discouraged from posting when getting negative ratings in any site I've seen where ratings exist, I'm sure it's a possibility when it comes to new posters but people who have been here for a while I doubt it.

I agree we will likely just go in circles, you and some others don't want them which is fine. I and others do because of it giving this place more options/variety which is never gonna be a bad thing

I used to be pro ratings too. But moderation and seeing how many active users there are made me realise we’re far from needing them

Ratings aren't in my top list in what needs added here, I think I'd rather have dice and better emojis but still I have no issue advocating for it as it can enhance the user experience on any forum. You guys went through the trouble to add a like system so why not add more variety?

To be fair worst gen went to NF first which led to players there joining here. So in a way you guys brought us here. I just find it funny, because worst gen members on nf were embraced as part of the community while over here it feels like we are second class citizens for being part of a different forum beforehand. Like we crossed over the border without a green card lol

NF Mafia was sadly already on life support before you guys got there . You guys just gave it a little bit more life. But that's always been NF Mafia in a nutshell, it's active around favorites season and a month after it's done then it kinda dies for a bit till Favorites seasons
