Well actually….. no probably. Killing Ace alone puts Akainu at least a tier above BM and Kaido in story significance. Hell, you could even argue Fujitora abolishing the warlords was more impactful on the story, and Oda clearly has plot threads set up with Aokiji.

not really, Blackbeard is the one that captured Ace and used him to get what he wanted.

So in a way, Blackbeard has more significance into getting Ace killed than Akainu.

Especially when Blackbeard used Ace to get half of his broken crew and also get Whitebeard's Devil Fruit.

Blackbeard has much more impact on the story than Akainu, in fact Marineford happened all because of Blackbeard.
