Dressrosa was ok, but also had a ton of recycled plot points and a really dragged out second half after the Birdcage, even in the manga.

Those dragged out second halfs of arcs are soo annoying. It.s that time where Oda kills all the hype for the plot points he established in the first half of the arc

The difference is this is in relation to a larger plotline with smaller arcs, not the actual final arc like Bleach.

Final Arc does not mean Final ARC like in the west. They can't get to Laugh Tale without the 4th RP and that's not on Wano. The Final War isn't going to take place in Laugh Tale clearly.

Think logically about this.

There’s nothing to tell us he didn’t rush Wano either.

Anyway I’m not the one who thinks he rushing out Final Saga or anything. If anything they told him to hurry up and finish Wano so he can do the final saga in a “proper manner”. We’ll have to see how it plays out

Oda peaks with marineford saga is not even a debate. Sabaody is 10/10, short but intense and broke the narrative completely, which was great. Amaozn Lily is okay. Impel Down is fucking legendary also we get to see the goats buggy d clown and bon clay again that makes it x700 times better. Marineford is the climax of the super saga and has the two most memorable moments of one piece. Luffy's flashback is solid and his moment with Jimbe is another historic moment. No other saga can compete

I think Oda and his staff are basically sitting down deciding what they can afford to scrap in order to reach the end sooner.

It will be a desaster.

He wants (or needs) to finish it asap, but that simply doesn't work with the current setup of the story at all.

You can't write an ending in 5 years (aka around 160-180 chapters), when you literally have to target and explain every single (!) endgame plot-point, bc you didn't do so before, and also already wrote almost as long arcs with tons of irrelevant goof-chapters.

I mean he probably will do it, but explain to any objective fan how a 160 chapter final saga (Elbaf, Laugh Tale, BB final fights, war against the WG) can be satisfying, when you know that even single arcs like Dressrosa took 100 chapters or Wano right now with its 150 chapters and a ton of chapters wasted for unnecessary content.

People will ask where the relation is.

Marineford has a shitton of consistency and writing problems.

Yes, it's the climax of the first half of OP, but in terms of pure storywriting arcs like Water 7 or Sabaody are way better.

I do. I'm aware that final arc refers to a saga still doesn't change how open Oda is about skimming over events to get to the end sooner than initially planned. Take the ending of Wano as an example. We'll get third party sources telling us the plot points that would've been shown if Oda didn't speed up the arc.

The same is essentially happening for the entire series. Oda and his editors will look at the initial concept and skim through whatever they find is ok to fly over and Elbaf is the obvious answer.

Not saying we won't get Elbaf at all. I'm saying if Elbaf was supposed to be a 50+ chapter long arc, and let's be honest it had build up since the beginning of the series, then we should expect it to become a 15-20 chapter arc at max.

So you are basing your entire thought process on the last 2 chapters that only "seem" rushed because of....what exactly? It's going the same pacing as every other arc ending. Luffy recovers and is up in like 2-3 chapters, LITERALLY every arc. The party happens soon after. They leave 8-10 chapters after the villain loses. The final saga can start while they are still in Wano FYI.


They aren't leaving in a chapter, not while:

- Robin is MIA looking at Poneglyphs
- A party is happening
- An admiral is coming
- Ebisu is still uncredited
- Bounties and world news hasn't been shown
- Nobody has said goodbye yet.

Its not happening in 16 pages.

Althought I was not a fan of luffys solo journey for several arcs I still agree. One Piece was at it best during this saga and the send off into the ts was perfect.

I'm still praying for them to pull it off though. I don't wanna be delusional my hopes aren't high at all but i also don't want to watch this series write itself into the wall.

I'm basing this on the fact that even people close to Oda may it be from Toei/shueisha or his editors ( dunno which one did) but when this entire 5 year thing came up the first time one of the guys took back his opinion and said "If the arc continues by the current pacing i do see Oda ending the series in 5 years" prior to stating that it would be impossible.

I’d agree with this except Oda did the exact thing most normal people thought he would Luffy wank.

If anything his ending is gonna be something most people in the community will predict rather then a twist
