now you are just contradicting yourself. In the panel/next page Vivi is not alongside the other straw hats. Jimbei at the time was not considered to be a member of the strawhats and has not been invited to the crew just yet. That came during fishman island. Why is this concept so hard for you to process? Luffy has only nine people not counting himself. He needs one more person to join than it can be completed. Weather it is Yamato, Carrot, or Vivi but who knows.

I guess one can arguably include Sabo in that nakama count as well, if we are to go with that scene's context since they're talking about Ace's loss (and Sabo's alleged loss) because Ace and Sabo were Luffy's OG nakama...

At least learn how to:

1. Properly understand the context of each lines in a story...
2. Count properly, which entity counts in a statement is critical...

Luffy at the end of chapter 1 according to the Viz says this:
"First things first. I've got to get a crew! I think about ten men should do." Then what does Luffy do next? He goes to Shells Town and recruits Zoro (aka The First). Continuing onward skipping a few, he recruits Sanji (aka The Fourth). Skipping a few arcs, he recruits Brook (The Eighth) then Jinbe (the Ninth). Well, is Luffy The Tenth? No. So its Yamato? Carrot? Caribou? Luffy is not the first its Zoro. I hope this makes sense I dont want to argue with a weetodd for a month.

Yes, let us play thewhat if game. What if Yamato was not there? Momo dies alongside with shinobu the strawhats and there alliance is decimated, the samurai lose the will to fight, and the raid fails Luffy takes a while to get to onigashima for the third round. With his crew and his alliance are destroyed. Luffy is completely defeated, distraught and can't think straight facing both kaido and big mom at the same time.
Big mom and Kaido go after the ancient weapons and after the one-piece leaving robin as the only survivor. There is no kuma or revolutionaries coming to save their life in the end. They have their hands full, and their concern are already put somewhere else which is their own not the strawhats at this moment.

HAHAHA. If the endgame would be BB VS SH, I still think BB will have 14 Crew members/Captains (A nod to Blackbeard's 14 wives) and Luffy will have either 12 Crew members (Disciples of Jesus) or 10 or 11 Crew Members (11 soccer players, including Luffy or 11 players plus coach if we include Luffy).

Other BB captain/member will fight SH's grand fleet captains to even the fight.

This discussion about numbers is pointless. Peenix has his mind, and he won't change it until it's confirmed that Yamato will join the crew. This goes so far that he argues with things he has no way of knowing ("One of them's getting the Blueno treatment") so that he doesn't have to deviate from his opinion.

I suppose the biggest thing missing in regards to Yamato is a dramatic emotional connection between her and Luffy. I suppose that would come in the form of her finally coming to terms of not needing to have the burden of trying to carry on Oden's identity and harken back to Luffy's words about how she doesn't have to be Kozuki Oden.

Honestly never saw Carrot as friends of Luffy any different from friends like Kinemon, Law, Pekoms, and Hyogoro. They interacted with Luffy and had moments with him, but just that. With Yamato though, she hits a different level with me on a profound level.

Carrot has been losing her ground ever since we got her one panel flashback back in whole cake island. Post whole cake island she did not even get bounty alongside the straw hats in that arc. Throughout wano arc she has been pushed to the background with no new story revelations coming from her as a character.


The nail in the coffin was throughout this entire arc. She has not done anything significant/important. Take carrot out of the wano arc it does not change that much. On top of that throughout the raid her fight was practically skip over comparison to the straw hats and their alliance in the manga. Her Lack of screen time was extremely diminished in this arc. Most of her personal enemies that had affected on her life not even resolved by the straw hats but by other characters in the story. Even post wano we do not see carrot still thinking about Pedro’s sacrifice.

I'm not against Carrot joining SHC but her character design is just too plain to be a SH material.
