But the toxicity around Carrot and the mink has gone from fun.. to actual systemic toxicity, meaning, actual deshumanizing argument against a oppressed yet fictional race (=fictional racism). And I think that's a problem worth noting because this thread is a major source for that. Now I'm willing not to bit to much on the nose about that.. but let's all agree at least that it's not cool to dezhumanize characters even if they are not real.

You seem like someone who has a lot to say about social issues but I still fail to understand what this has to do with Yamato vs Carrot joining. According to some interpretations, Yamato is trans or non binary. Wouldn't this give her extra points from your perspective?

To be honest, I find Carrot fans usually come off as thoughtful and kind.

There's a tragic quality to them. Like they have tied themselves to the mast of the Titanic and are determined to ward off the iceberg by the power of song.

I find myself picking on them, just to get a response.

I mean, never heard of racism against minks before, but as soon as someone decries it, it suddenly becomes something I have to try.
