I'm not even a dedicated Zoro fan, but even I was disappointed by how little his character-writing got in the end after all the setup in Act 2. It's great that he got power-ups and tons of amazing feats, but the character work was lacking and incomplete with him this arc.

Yeah didn’t think shiryu would come after mihawk but it seems very likely now , makes more sense if Zoro becomes wss and proves anyways.

Again, Mihawk's the tool that Oda needs to justify Buggy's Yonko title. He can't have Buggy stand alongside the Yonko without a competing force on his side and that force is Mihawk.

I don’t see why Zoro would need to turn his blades black against Shiryu or an admiral.

So he’s obviously going to do it against Mihawk, which means Mihawk is either his next fight or the one right after.
