No, I don’t think he’s been “backhanded” this arc, and no, I don’t see him soloing a YC this arc (too many people, not strong enough yet, time to get on that level because next enemies are more YCs,) and hell no I don’t think he’s injuring Kaido, let alone hurting him.
It's a special sword because it wants to forcefully use more of the user haki. That won't turn a weak swordsman into a strong swordsman. Once you tame the sword that problem is gone. The sword is too dangerous to use until it is tamed by the user.
Part me thinks after Onigashima and back on mainland Wano, they will show up. Im not certain if this whole raid is going to workout as well as they want it to.

he called the sandai a problem child and blood thirsty first time he got it cause it was cutting more than he intended. tengu also mentioned the sandai in his little rant.
