Speculations Why the story had Yamato stay in Wano instead of going with the Straw Hats.

Too many characters for Oda to jiggle around on daily basis. We had Jimbei now too. Other SHs will get less screentime also. I think oda made last minute decision for yamato to not join SHs
I’ll believe that when Oda starts removing Straw Hats entirely. Oda doesn’t have to regularly write and draw for Law, Kid, the Scabbards, and others at this point anymore, so I think we’re fine there.

Yamato did join but she wants to stay in wano and then join
the reason is the crew would be too OP with Yamato she knocked Aramaki back and fought Kaido with her around the crew would low diff Shanks crew

Yeah, that's another detail I notice, of Luffy's crewmates refusing/opposing him in some way at some point in their lives, so ironically her refusing Luffy still gave me a Straw Hat vibe.

Luffy chased after a lot of the SHs to make them join his crew. Yet when Yamato says shes not coming, he doesnt really care lol. Of course her declining to join was also off-panelled as well. Yh its very highly unlikely she'll ever join.

Come on, it's obvious that Jinbe didn't join on FMI because he was stronger than Sanji at the time. Apparently Luffy, Zoro and Sanji always have to be the three strongest. It's the same with Yamato. The difference is that Oda didn't even bother with the excuse anymore. Even if Yamato still joins in the final arc, it won't be the same as with Jinbe, who will now adventure with the Straw Hats.
I don't know about that man...Hell Memories would do a number on Jinbe.

So sanji can become stronger
Ah, so it’s Sanji’s fault then. That sounds like a pretty stupid reason if Oda’s giving it. :<)

I thought it was refreshing having someone approach Luffy like that after several times of it being the other way around.

The Strawhats were always going to leave Wano, so Oda needed someone left behind to protect it. Someone who could face Kaido like Yamato did was always too much for the crew, especially since they would still need to be the underdogs for the present time.
They can't be underdogs when Luffy is an Emperor. And there are enough strong fighters on Wano. Denjiro is about as strong as Jack, and Momo's Fire Breath could give an admiral trouble. Then what was the point of Momo's speech that without Yamato and Luffy they must be able to defend Wano? I repeat myself, but there isn't a single reasonable argument for Yamato staying on Wano.

Ah, so Yamato might be in trouble since she's trapped there from the ever-increasing threats the world is facing then.

Also, not sure how one could call an Emperor's crew underdogs.
