I guess Bulma just wants a happy kid.
I mean, she is rich, she is intelligent, her husband and her best friend are the strongest creatures she ever has seen, besides Beerus, which is also a friend, or at least addicted to her (cause of Food). I guess she is happy when her kid is happy, thats it. While Chichi has some strange ideas about pushing intelligence, when his Talent is obviously something completely else.

On the other Hand, he likes exactly that. Thats why he is in Training with goten, always. They achived even the SSJ1 on their own, without any treat or some danger. Imagine you give this 2 Kids together with Vegeta and Goku into the Timechamber for a few days.
