The focus on Cross Guild in 1056 and this one is interesting.
Buggy being the figurehead is a gag, but the organization in itself is pretty legit. Maybe they're going to meet the straw hats soon?

What would their purpose be? We know Mihawk's end game is Zoro fight. But what about Buggy and Crocodile? Are they just here to be just more manpower against the WG in the final war? I hope Croco has some good role.

Actually this situation has even more gag opportunity than the other one. But i agree it doesn't make sense.

It'll never be outright confirmed, but hopefully the Post Wano arc being as subpar as it was can be chalked up somewhat to Oda having to shoehorn in Film Red promotion with Shanks inexplicably passing by with no real reason to.

No he's just doing the post arc updates after the arc, like WCI. Prior, he would do 2-3 chapters during post arcs for world updates (see Alabasta, W7, DR). Now he's just doing it after (seems like 1059+ will be exactly that)

Hmm true. What I can see are things like Zoro visiting Ryuma's grave being used as a flashback. Let's say his Shimotsuki lineage comes back into focus, he can now have a flashback of someone talking to him about it. Not saying it's great, but I can see Oda doing this, because he's done it before
