I feel like that wouldn't be a setup at the end of a chapter only for Oda to disappoint us this way. If his son was dead, we would have gotten the "play along, but his son is dead" type of line at the end of the arc and an ominous view of Kaido's face or something.

Also, One Piece has never really been that deep tbh lol.
Just sometimes you can get eaten by you own Mom lol XD

The reason why Oda introduced Weevil Kata and now Kaido Jr
It is to say that Luffy isnt yet ready to solo a Yonko
He can solo Admiral but not Yonko 1 v 1 yet.

Too many headcanon designs for kaido junior i see lol..one thing you have to know that this is oda we are dealing here...but i still bet he will be crazy strong...

Oda has yet to truly fudge on any sort of Yonko-related design, and Oda rarely makes joke characters. Orochi was the first truly "joke" villain since like Caesar/Spandam, and even Caesar displayed some cunning plots before being a "joke" in the end. Silly designs? Yes, but characters like Senor Pink or Queen are strong as hell.

Its actually safer to assume his son is someone powerful over someone who's a joke lol. Almost none of Big Mom's children are jokes (beyond some being fodder in some cases), so why can't Kaido have one son who's not actually a runt?

I just think that here in this arc, its purposeful to have Luffy fight another Yonko Commander and then do a huge battleground type teamup against Kaido/Big Mom to close out the Rocks plot for good. That way we can go through a Vegapunk arc or Elbaf arc or CP-0/Revo arc or Underworld arc (all hypothetical) without worrying that Luffy is just simply too powerful for an arc villain in the end.

And yes, Luffy needs to have his time against Akainu. If he solo-thrashes Kaido in this arc, what does that say about Akainu? Even if miraculously Akainu was stronger than Kaido, how are we supposed to feel tension after Luffy bests the strongest creature in the world?

Pudding had exactly the same concept character.

No, but lived a context where her inner view of reality (in this case of herself) was distorted due to the incapacity to cope with her trauma.
Touche, I gotcha. Anyway, I still highly doubt Kaido is imagining his son in this moment lol. The chapter more likely wouldn't have hyped the existence of him otherwise. If he was dead, we would have more likely gotten the revelation that he was dead from one of his subordinates when he asked.

I don't think he could be the main villain per se, but I think he could be Luffy's main fight before the War begins and turns into chaos fighting against "Rocks". I personally still don't believe Luffy and Kaido will have a proper mano a mano fight, not before Blackbeard or Akainu. Throwing Big Mom into the mix just makes it too much. There will be other factors involved that make them go down. This is why I personally believe there is an Ace, not to mention:

- The fact that Tama/Ace (in relation to the name only) is a thing this arc that has yet to pay off. My guess is Tama will somehow be present for Luffy v. this Ace, and Luffy will say "Don't you dare use my brothers name!", revealing to Tama that Ace was Luffy's brother. The alternative would be a whitebeard pirate or Izo calls him Ace's Brother and she hears it, but I think the first option is more dramatic.

- Luffy ALWAYS warrants a major mano a mano fight every arc. Kaido almost can't be that for him. If Oda has him win alone, then Luffy will become the strongest "creature" in the world by default after this arc. That reduces the stakes of future arcs. I'm not talking about an attack Zoro or Kidd may deliver, but a full blown teamup is likely warranted to take down either Yonko.

So yes, I do believe this arc will have its "Katakuri" before the Rocks plot truly kicks in.
I'm rooting for this
Yonko main children vs Luffy :smithnie:

Really have to say that "drunken father screaming that his son should be appearing at a feast" doesn't in any way give me the impression that said son is somehow a badass. More son is a moody teenager stuck in his room refusing to socialise.

i will say that we have to take this hint from oda seriously , do you remember how orochi was killing who talk bad about him and how denjiero lough at him in 919 , some told me that this is hint that he is a weak character but i wanted strong shogun :chirstsad:
not a crime to dream of a strong samurai :pepemy:

Knowing kaido's character of respecting strength, I honestly have a hard time seeing his son as a wimp or a coward.

As for how strong he is, I think he's right under the calamities, or maybe even stronger. Big mom's son katakuri is a absolute beast. I think Kaido would feel pretty shameful and embarrassed if his son were a disappointment. The fact that his son nonchalantly refused kaido's summoning to meet big mom in person, shows this guy isn't all just talk.
... And finally...

All hes doing is asking for him drunkenly lol. For all we know, the guy is a loner or takes being a pirate super seriously. The assumption goes both ways

I think he's that cool swordsman with long hair shown in pink hazard
Interesting but unlikely... Thid dude will show up in another arc.

I used to think that he could appear in Wano arc as the Shogun, a Flying Six member... But definitively he will not appesr in Wano.

He seems badass as fuck yes, cool dessign it seems (jaws/face and hair).

Note his sword seems a ninja's one...

We have to wait.

What do you guys think about what Tekking said in his review?
I mean he said that Kaido's son might be dead and this is the reason for his drinking habit and Beast Pirates just play along and say "Ye ye we will look for him" at least until Kaido sobers up and remembers that his son is dead.
I think that these people are retard.
