It redeemed my boy Alain at least
This is very true. Alain looked much better.

But at what cost? :jay-he:
Plot twist the writers are secretly big Alain fanboys and they first wrote the episode where Alain is slaughtered so everyone feels bad for him and forget about what he did to Ash, and then they’ll have Leon continue the massacre so then Alain’s strength can be redeemed because everyone is equal against the mighty Leon

Lol I wish I translated the comments under the official account here when that fight came out

This whole tournament is a mess
I legit think they should've given it the special OVA treatment or movie treatment to get the most quality
The animation doesn't even come close to what we witnessed in previous leagues
Original the main writer just wanted to do Ash’s fights properly, and the other champions’ in will be in simpler style
But after showing the story drafts to higher ups they were told it’s such a waste to draw those scenes like that, so they ended up polishing them
Paul’s appearance was also added later on, the episode was just supposed to be one where Ash’s pokemons cheer him up, but someone suggested that Ash should gain something in this episode, so they bring back Paul

I never understood the reluctance the Pokemon Anime had in having older characters return regularly
I like to compare it to Detective Conan as they're both very long running series with episodic formats and there's a huge difference in how DC treats its side characters but perhaps that's just the result of having a single writer vs multiple.
Characters like Gary and Paul being absent from the show for over a decade is just shocking to me. They're what made the show in their respective seasons and it's always great to see them

I remember reading about this :zorothink:

Honestly bringing back Paul was probably the only good to come out of this decision tbh.

No it took me a whole week :snoopy:

I didn’t have any trouble with the gym leaders, the Fire elite four can be annoying but that’s it
(Nice nicknames..?)
omg Pingu I love Pingu

I’ll tag you every time someone posts something :kata:

You might a bit underlevel'd.

In bdsp the elite four all got a huge buff. They have max ev's and competitive movesets, but their teams are the same as in the original games. So it's a pretty big difficulty spike.
max evs wtf? wish me luck lol
