If current Oda wrote pre time skip:

He would have offscreened BB vs Ace, would have silhoutted all the warlords, would have made Rayliegh being part of Roger's crew a mystery , marineford would have been 150 chapters instead of 30, etc.

Marineford was 30 chapters of basically pure offsceening. You see virtually no fights. Admirals vs WB commanders, nothing. Mihawk vs Vista. Nothing. Croc vs Doffy, nothing. Etc etc etc. All teases and single pages or clashes. Then nothing after. Sure it's all set up of what was to come. But let's stop glorifying it like it elevated pacing or the shonen genre. It served what it was meant to serve: a showcase for the future.

What a weird complaint
