Marineford was 30 chapters of basically pure offsceening. You see virtually no fights. Admirals vs WB commanders, nothing. Mihawk vs Vista. Nothing. Croc vs Doffy, nothing. Etc etc etc. All teases and single pages or clashes. Then nothing after. Sure it's all set up of what was to come. But let's stop glorifying it like it elevated pacing or the shonen genre. It served what it was meant to serve: a showcase for the future.
