Or Teach confirming that there's no man (a straight one) that can resist Hancock's powers, that includes Yonko, Admirals, etc.
Author is using this wherever he needs.
And no, Rayleigh or Vergo's examples are invalid here. Never it was stated that Haki NULIFY DF, Haki allows to deal against some powers of DF, but it cannot do what Kairoseki does.
Doflamingo could block Law's Amputation, but not the others attacks for example.

This is an AnimeSnob level nitpick. There’s lots of problems in One Piece, this one is not.
Haki countering df is a decision to fight entropy, imagine you crawl your way to the world, build your strength, become one of the strongest, due to hardwork, genes, chosen shit or whatever, just to have Jon Doe beat the shit out of you because of counter counter df.
It would create a matchup based world, where legends wouldn’t be able to emerge, and the top dogs would all be fraudulents fucks that avoid fighting in order to not get fucked by luck.
Power levels are important, not a detriment.
Of course, I’m expecting Oda to be even more inconsistent than Kubo about it, I’m already remembering Oden unable to harm Orochi because of the barrier of a fodder (even though I think said fodder is much more important and alive as someone deeply connected to Xebec, or Xebec himself, that’s still a theory I did in the past, and not a confirmed fact) for example, but the premise is this, and I guess, if we want to get technical about it, we don’t know how much “df level” BB’s lackey exerted, nor how much haki Law has exerted, so the required haki to stop devil fruits would be impossible to achieve against top tiers, or people of similar level.
So, Sugar could do this against Robin, but would fail vs Kaidou, as, even if Robin is stronger than Sugar, the difference is not enough to completely negate it.

We knew about this for over a decade. Rayleigh said it, Smoker said it and Doflamingo/Vergo said it. Yes we were all arguing hax like Sugar or the art one wouldn't work on anyone with strong haki. So yes we know about this, its just the first time we have seen it
I do however agree that if Haki and DFs were fully explained atleast at timeskip it would make the fights post skip way way better, bad writing when it comes to fights for sure
