This is overkill considering Qatar already among the most safest place
Regardless of what happens and who wins it, my honest reaction will be is all that 200 billions spend on infrastructure and another billions spend on lobbying officials and influencers worth it?
Many reports since 2014 alerted of terrorist attacks in FIFA 2022 and it's because of where Qatar lies geographically (Presence of Terrorist groups near by)
You can't rule out lone wolf attacks if not something at bigger scale
So better to have precautions.
But yeah I still think 200B $ on infra could have been spend on something more essential.
In comparison, SA hosted 2010 WC and it only cost them 4B$.
