I don't care about twitter
At the same time, a lot of people were making a living on twitter, people who would not have reached a sizable audience without it
With Deviantart and Tumblr gone Twitter basically became a refuge for Artists and now it might be gone too
Lots of businesses became more successful because of Twitter's large reach
People have met friends on twitter that they may not have a way to contact if it dies
I feel bad for the people above and for people getting laid off

A lot of people don’t go outside it seems, so they depend on social media to stay alive like that one person mentioned earlier.

Degrees are useless anyway. Elon Musk can give jobs to those PhDs.
That said, Musk is really pushing it. He just fired so many employees and now many are leaving the company. The company is getting a bad reputation as well. I have heard that Tesla has a brutal working culture, Elon Musk is trying to implement that culture at Twitter as well. Will he be successful? Time will tell. Perhaps Elon is banking on a recession and believes the employers will have the upper hand next year.

He probably has an inferiority complex lol, but he shouldnt have. Nobody cares if a tech mogul has a PhD, but people get more fascinated when Bill Gates or Zuckerberg dont have a college degree.
Regarding degree's usefulness, people (at least in tech sector) mostly learn after joining industry. Reading books and doing homeworks at Uni are mostly irrelevant and useless.
To play the devil's advocate, Twitter hasnt been making any money for long. A drastic change was long overdue.

He’ll probably do the complete opposite of what he should be doing, considering Twitter’s state less than a month after he took control. 
Musk fucked up lmao. He tried a publicity stunt, which was "buying" Twitter. But, he was probably adviced later that it was a terrible investment. So he tried his best to terminate or back out. At that point, it was too late. He had signed the contract. And thus, he basically got handed over a sinking ship, which he proceeded to fuck up even more and created even more holes. Thus sealing twitters fate once and for all.
It's a good thing imo. Twitter being gone might be a positive thing. But Elon fucking himself over with his stunts and slowly revealing to the world what he truly is, is actually the best thing to come out of this whole internet saga.
