This is not a big deal most of tech company are WAY overstaffed ( especially when it comes to programmers which are the biggest cost for tech companies ) even at my company we have projects that could be run by 3 or 4 people but they have 15 people assigned to them and eventually just 2/3 people end up actually working....

So even if it sounds crazy laying off even more than 50% of tmployees it's not as disastrous as it seems and they're not gonna rewrite Twitter's entire codebase out of nowere ( i have some friends that work there and it's not as bad as u may read online..... )
Yup, this is especially true for big tech companies—they're all overstaffed. There will always be setbacks when you make changes to anything. They'll be fixed eventually. Peeps are celebrating way too quickly.

Yeah the tech companies hired like crazy during the pandemic because there was an upsurge of internet usage. Now that things are going back to normal, these companies lost that extra pandemic era revenue. In addition, many tech moguls have predicted USA is heading towards a recession. The higher interest rates are also not helping.

Tbh, this panic is unwarranted.

First, it's just a social media platform. Don't know why people are fuking losing their sleep over it as if their whole existence depends on it.

Second, private companies are based on one motive - profits. Laying of employees isn't the sign of Twitter shutting down or elon doesn't care but he is going for cost -cutting to make Twitter more profitable.

Twitter isn't performing well in terms of revenue and elon who invested 44B$ has every right to make it profitable.

Yes, his idea of Blue tick back fired but again this was done with the same mindset and in business not all of your ideas pay results.

He will pull everything in his hands to ensure Twitter gives him money and (people who are panicking will give him) before he even dreams of shutting it down.
