Chapter Discussion Are the Beasts Pirates both cooler and notably stronger than the Big Mom Pirates?

I think some beast pirates might be better than their BMP counterparts in a 1v1 fight, but overall, they are near equals. If this wasn't the case then Kaido would have conquered big mom by now.
The ancient zoans of the beast pirates are very straight forward. They grant you immense power, moreso than the paramecias of the big mom pirates. However what they lack in strength, the big mom pirates make up for in technical ability.

- brulee's DF offers them access essentially to a form of teleportation. With the mirror world, the big mom pirates can easily hop around islands and ambush their enemies in case of invasion.
- mont'dor can use his powers to easily transport large amounts resources
- cracker and Perospero's DFs offer the BMP near unlimited resources in several aspects. Specifically, their powers can be used for infrastructure as well as in the creation of weapons(and soldiers in Cracker's case) that can be distributed to other members of the BMP
- Streusen's powers can manipulate entire environments, again something that would be useful in the case of an enemy invasion. Katakuri can do this to a lesser extent with DF awakening
- Oven is extremely powerful in ocean combat and can easily use his powers to destroy incoming ships.
- Big Mom herself is extremely overpowered with the soru soru no mi allowing her to create an endless army. These homies have shown to essentially be immortal. This can be seen when both zeus and king baum(who is a normal homie) were able to survive being sliced in half. She can also control animals by creating animal homies, she can control the ocean by creating the candy homie, and she can create hurricanes by combining the power of prometheus and zeus.
The Beast Pirates all consist of edgy designs. Men in leather jackets and feather coats while girls are in bikinis and devil horns.
The beast pirates designs are more consistent, with a biker/samurai/barbarian theme going on.
But a lot of the fodders and mooks of the beats pirates have ugly/poor designs
The Big Mom Pirates has a lot of cool designs as well, and are a lot more varied.
We got edgy Katakuri, to a funny guy like Bobbins.
The Big Mom pirates also has a lot of absolute weirdos, with their dudes like the crocodile man and the rabbit man.
So I guess both the crews are kinda even for me, its just comes to personal preference I guess.
Although I think right now I like the beast pirates a little bit more, the girls in their crew are all hotties.
If it weren't for Katakuri, Beast Pirates will still be an easy choice.

You can shit on the Tobi Roppo when one of them is too busy monologuing to finish off their enemies like Perospero and the Vinsmokes (he was even scolded by his lil bro and didn't hurry it up).

References don't always make for better designs.I don't even think they should ever be brought up.The final product is what matters and that's subjective.
I am not saying Oven and Daifuku are bad , but there's nothing striking about them.
Compote is just a Big Mom jr and her impact on the whole arc was beyond pathetic.Smoothie looks a bit better but was equally unimportant despite her implied strength.

Leaving the cooler aspect aside, they're roughly on the same spectrum in strength, just their strength balances out in a different way.
Big Mom has vastly more numbers, her prowess comes from her own fleets + associations with the families/factions to whom her kids are married.
Kaido's prowess comes strictly from his own fighters, and compared to her numbers, his numbers aren't all that high. But which is why his YC3 has roughly the same bounty & hype as BM's YC1.
Compared to them Whitebeard's numbers were even much lower, hence some of his top commanders have hype that connects them to top tiers.
Then we move on to the "impregnable crew" of Shanks, who's main dogs are simply strong, and he's not all that high in numbers even compared to Whitebeard from what we know.
But sticking to BM pirates & Beast pirates, if you're limiting their "crew" to just their main 10 or so fighters.. then yea there's a gap in strength between the crews. If you're talking about them as a whole with fleets and etc everything included.. then nah they should be pretty close.

I don't know about cooler, but definitely stronger. Katakuri is still the strongest dude in both crews though.
I think he mid diffs everyone. Only King pushes him to high diff. Queen is about to get his ass whooped by a guy barely stronger than this:
