He's not going to get stomped outright.

Oda will have Zoro stall Kizaru a bit to show the growth since Saobody.

But he is getting to Egghead since the light gloves have been set up to hit him.

So we have one of three things happening.

1) Kizaru runs away from Zoro
or
2) Kizaru and Zoro gets interrupted
or
3) Kizaru defeats Zoro outright

I think 3) is the most likely option here when you consider all the surrounding context and story beats.

And what is a better reason for such an introduction than Kizaru being defeated...
The incident on Egghead will cause a war, the Final War, as Stussy mentioned.
Zoro vs Kizaru would be a pretty good trigger for a World War in One Piece.
