I don't think Kaidou literally meant that his son is stupid. I think it was said more out of anger if anything. Looks to me like Kaidou's son is pretty rebellious tho, given he specifically ghosted on the day of the fire festival..lolz. Given Kaidou is going as far as to send the flying six after him though, he's most likely a handful. Whether he's super strong or just has an tricky ability, we can't really say for now, but he seems a really interesting character ^^.

Of course it does, unless it is an outlandish claim, if there is no panel of it, both are possible.

We already know he is not based on feats (getting scared by Fuji attack (just like Sabo), damage Red Hawk did to him (compared to what the admirals have taken on panel), has not shown the DC, AP and Haki of Admirals) and the list goes on.
