Anime & Manga Titty Kubo Has Defeated Lee (Remembering the Fallen)

Isn't the whole anime an entirely different experience to the manga since the anime just flat out stuffs in loads of new content? Lol.

Only the early portion of that arc was any good (before Yhwach vs Yamamoto happened) and I ain't watching an anime pick up Kubo's slack track record.
Since Kubo was being rushed at the time, the last arc suffered from it greatly be it writting or pacing wise, the anime (with Kubo at the helm) is aiming to rectify those problems.

There's some new scenes, a lot of the humor of early TYBW and the perverse gags taken out.

The biggest take away is that the 13 episodes so far covered 55+ chapters of TYBW, roughly a quarter of the arc. Someone on reddit crunched the math and said that, if the pace continues, we'll have roughly 10 episodes of filler content to fix the final arc.

I mean, sure but with Kubo's colour palette that would still end up being mostly black and white. :milaugh:
His early chapters had a lot of life/background to them. The black and white background meme mostly started around the middle/end of the Arancar arc in which he fell ill and never recovered. Id still say the colored version is a better read than the default one lol.

The manga is filler at this point. Fingers crossed patches are coming.

I don't mind the lack of backgrounds. Kubo himself has stated he doesn't Like drawing them because he wants the focus to be solely on the characters. I like the minimalist approach, makes it unique.

Yeah the black and white manga is rough lol. Colored version it is.

Okay so chapters 2-6:

I’m really not feeling Ichigo. Rikia had a great point when she told Ichigo he shouldn’t only save the spirits in front of him if that was his only metric for deciding which spirits to save, he should instead devote himself to saving them all,

And his response was “shut up, I’ll do what I want”

So yeah definitely crap Shonen protagonist syndrome so far lol. Ichigo also seems to have no greater motivation other than paying off his debt which…okay for now I guess.

Also I noticed something strange. Rikia says Shinigami should strive to kill Hollows quickly before seeing their face so their human identity remains a mystery.

But then Rikia says killing Hollows is in fact saving them by sending them to the Soul Society.

So why then would seeing a Hollow’s face discourage a Shinigami from killing them exactly? If killing them is saving them, then seeing their face wouldn’t weaken your resolve necessarily, unless the Hollow was a shit human irl or something, but the context implied Rikia’s reasoning was that learning a Hollow’s identity would discourage a Shinigami from killing them out of empathy? Which again makes no sense.

Again, so far the manga is just fine. Some run of the mill gripes I have here and there but I understand these series take a while to really pick up sometimes.

Lmfao, what the fuck? In a series filled with extremely Japanese characters named Ichigo, Rikia, Inoue, etc…

All of the sudden this jacked motherfucker named Chad shows up out of nowhere and catches a falling steel beam on his back lmfaooo, was not expecting that.

Yeah, I think the guy has some Spanish ancestry or something if I recall correctly.

As for why he is called Chad, that is because the plot fucks the poor bloke over so hard that he couldn't possibly be called Virgin.

TAC is a Starrk stan. Anybody that stans Starrk is immediately suspicious.

I look to see what a mangaka is capable of on their own first. Lol.

If it takes Kubo a full anime team to halfway fix a shite final arc that was left a complete mess about a decade ago then Kubo failed the first time round. Man should have just ended the series at the conclusion of the Arrancar Arc.
