At this point, it makes little sense to pit Smoker against Luffy again. That shit honestly sailed after PH. They saved the kids together. Smoker saw Luffy saving yet another country, which is discussed with Fujitora.

Wano was a reality check to every fandom. The only characters Oda has enough interest in making them look good portrayal wise are MC's or very close friends of the MC's. Every opossition will get humiliated for their portrayal even if it completely looks ridiculous PL wise, see Ryokugyu vs Momo.

The more forces surround the crew the worse Oda will humiliate Kizaru to let the crew bail.

Best case scenario: Oda brought Kizaru to introduce Logia Awakening since we get a ton of Awakening focus and he's coincidentally the Admiral VP worked with closely.

Worse case scenario is as bad as Oda's imagination can go. He could literally let Franky and Brook stall Kizaru with the BS light grabbing gloves.
