Solution to Case #1: The Case of The Jewelry Thief
Professor James Moriarty was always interested in
L. J. Oldershaw's valuable diamonds collection, but the way things were, they would be very hard to get. So, in order to get his hands on the diamonds, Moriarty used his contacts and influence to set things up the way he wanted.
First, Moriarty indirectly put pressure on Royston Farrel, the museum administrator, to try to convince the millionaire to expose his collection. After trying for so long, Farrel achieved his task.
Then, once Moriarty was informed that the diamonds were being handed over to the museum, he used his influence over the police to get
Clive Swift, a very capable jewelry thief, released from prison early. Once the thief was released,
they made a deal, Clive would steal the diamonds with Moriarty's help, hand them over to Moriarty and receive a share of the spoils.
Moriarty knew Clive's
reputation of cheating his partners in crime, but he also needed his skills as a thief, so he decided to make a deal, but kept his eyes open for anything Clive could try to do.
While this was going on,
Clive was setting up a plan of his own to keep all the diamonds to himself. He hired
Nigel Bunyan, a coachman, to be his getaway driver.
Nigel had the same height as Clive and that was one of the main reasons why Clive chose him.
The day of the heist came, and the plan worked flawlessly, Clive was able to
snatch the diamonds collection from the Museum and flee the scene of the crime without getting caught, thanks to the help of both Moriarty and Nigel.
Clive instructed Nigel to take them to his home first, when they got there,
Clive killed him. The thief
changed his clothes with Nigel's and left his
own identity document close by. Then, Clive doused the stored fuel he had in his home and
set fire to the place, especially Nigel's body. After doing this, Clive left. Fearing that Moriarty would go after him for cheating him, Clive was trying to
fake his own death to trick Moriarty.
After that, Clive bought a ticket to a ship, named Orpheus, that was bound for France. The captain, Dermot Crowley,
was also an associate of Moriarty and recognized the thief's face, so when he noticed that Clive was trying to leave London,
he informed Professor Moriarty of his plans.
Angered, and also not being able to trust anyone to complete this task without getting the diamonds for themselves,
Moriarty went personally after Clive. On the following day, when the passengers boarded the ship and they were getting ready to leave,
Moriarty was already hidden in Clive's cabin.
Once the thief arrived at the location, he was ambushed, attacked and questioned by Moriarty. Clive tried to lie, dodge the Professor's questions and manipulate him into letting him go. But in the end, he failed.
Moriarty shot Clive in the head.
Since the thief didn't reveal the location of the diamonds,
Moriarty guessed Clive would have them with him, since if he had tried to sell them in London, Moriarty's contacts would have informed him, Clive was trying to leave with the diamonds to sell them in another place.
Moriarty searched the cabin and all his belongings, but found nothing, even his
suitcase was completely empty. After some time,
Moriarty had to give up and leave without his desired diamonds.
Professor Moriarty was so close to finding those diamonds, because the truth is that
Clive hid the diamonds inside the suitcase's handle, and now the suitcase was in the hands of the detectives at Soctland Yard. Even after death, Clive played Sherlock's Holmes archenemy, a feat not many men would be able to replicate.

[Active - Clue Ticket] Any player that has already visited the Locksmith before and has to visit again just in order to get the key, will be awarded with this ticket, letting them ask for a free clue from one of the other locations without having to visit. This won't show up in the visit counter. You may use this whenever you want, just say the location you want a clue from here in the Role PM.
