Solution to Case #1: The Case of The Jewelry Thief

Professor James Moriarty was always interested in L. J. Oldershaw's valuable diamonds collection, but the way things were, they would be very hard to get. So, in order to get his hands on the diamonds, Moriarty used his contacts and influence to set things up the way he wanted.

First, Moriarty indirectly put pressure on Royston Farrel, the museum administrator, to try to convince the millionaire to expose his collection. After trying for so long, Farrel achieved his task.

Then, once Moriarty was informed that the diamonds were being handed over to the museum, he used his influence over the police to get Clive Swift, a very capable jewelry thief, released from prison early. Once the thief was released, they made a deal, Clive would steal the diamonds with Moriarty's help, hand them over to Moriarty and receive a share of the spoils.

Moriarty knew Clive's reputation of cheating his partners in crime, but he also needed his skills as a thief, so he decided to make a deal, but kept his eyes open for anything Clive could try to do.

While this was going on, Clive was setting up a plan of his own to keep all the diamonds to himself. He hired Nigel Bunyan, a coachman, to be his getaway driver. Nigel had the same height as Clive and that was one of the main reasons why Clive chose him.

The day of the heist came, and the plan worked flawlessly, Clive was able to snatch the diamonds collection from the Museum and flee the scene of the crime without getting caught, thanks to the help of both Moriarty and Nigel.

Clive instructed Nigel to take them to his home first, when they got there, Clive killed him. The thief changed his clothes with Nigel's and left his own identity document close by. Then, Clive doused the stored fuel he had in his home and set fire to the place, especially Nigel's body. After doing this, Clive left. Fearing that Moriarty would go after him for cheating him, Clive was trying to fake his own death to trick Moriarty.

After that, Clive bought a ticket to a ship, named Orpheus, that was bound for France. The captain, Dermot Crowley, was also an associate of Moriarty and recognized the thief's face, so when he noticed that Clive was trying to leave London, he informed Professor Moriarty of his plans.

Angered, and also not being able to trust anyone to complete this task without getting the diamonds for themselves, Moriarty went personally after Clive. On the following day, when the passengers boarded the ship and they were getting ready to leave, Moriarty was already hidden in Clive's cabin.

Once the thief arrived at the location, he was ambushed, attacked and questioned by Moriarty. Clive tried to lie, dodge the Professor's questions and manipulate him into letting him go. But in the end, he failed. Moriarty shot Clive in the head.

Since the thief didn't reveal the location of the diamonds, Moriarty guessed Clive would have them with him, since if he had tried to sell them in London, Moriarty's contacts would have informed him, Clive was trying to leave with the diamonds to sell them in another place.

Moriarty searched the cabin and all his belongings, but found nothing, even his suitcase was completely empty. After some time, Moriarty had to give up and leave without his desired diamonds.

Professor Moriarty was so close to finding those diamonds, because the truth is that Clive hid the diamonds inside the suitcase's handle, and now the suitcase was in the hands of the detectives at Soctland Yard. Even after death, Clive played Sherlock's Holmes archenemy, a feat not many men would be able to replicate.

a) Who was the charred body? Nigel Bunyan
b) Who was the charred person's murderer? Clive Swift
c) What was the reason for burning the person? Trick Moriarty
d) Who was Clive Swift's killer? Professor Moriarty
e) What was the reason for Clive's death? Recovering Diamonds

Library - Clive was seen in a carriage a few hours before the fire.

Theater - The best way to prevent someone from killing you is to make them believe you're already dead.

Who was the charred body? = Nigel Bunyan
Who was the charred person's murderer? = Clive Swift

University - What was the reason for burning the person? - Clue I (of 3):
--- [Hunter x Hunter]

What was the reason for Clive's death? = recovery + ing + diamonds = Recovering Diamonds

Scotland Yard - The detectives noticed a strange noise when picking up Clive Swift's empty suitcase.

Pawn Shop - Where is the secret location of the diamonds? - Clue I (of 2):
-- [Mr. Bean]

Once every location had been visited (by normal means) the Locked Box Event would start. Then, the first player to visit the Locksmith would gain a key to open it and it's contents. Here are the contents:
You get two things from the Locked Box:

[Active - Clue Ticket] Any player that has already visited the Locksmith before and has to visit again just in order to get the key, will be awarded with this ticket, letting them ask for a free clue from one of the other locations without having to visit. This won't show up in the visit counter. You may use this whenever you want, just say the location you want a clue from here in the Role PM.

[Active - Clive's Plans] Clive had an assortment of documents and plans written down and stored inside the box, because of this you have an improved understanding of the case and can get a better grasp at the best places to find clues. By using this item, you can choose one of two things:
-- [Private Investigation] The detective will study the plans for themselves and uncover some of it's secrets. The Player will choose 4 locations and the Host will inform them what questions those clues help solving.
-- [Shared Knowledge] The detective will share the Locked Box findings with Scotland Yard and the other detectives working on the case, their combined shared knowledge will be able to find more of it's secrets. The Player will choose 8 locations and the Host will make a WU on the main game thread informing what questions those clues help solving for everyone.

The first item you can use whenever you want. The second item, you must decide now.
Thank you for playing this game and i hope you had some casual fun!

Characters Rolesheets
I

Indigo

Here are the roles:

You're Sherlock Holmes!

The most famous detective in History who has mastered the powers of logic, observation and deduction.

"When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth."

As such, you have the following abilities:
[Active - Master of Disguise] - This ability allows Sherlock to change his appearance as needed and hide his own movements from prying eyes and threats, facilitating the investigation of the case. Once this ability is used, Sherlock will be immune from actions by other players for that round. (x2) (x0)

[Active - Keen Mind] - This ability allows Sherlock to reflect on the case, specifically in one of the questions that needs to be answered, and by doing so he is able to deduct the best possible locations to visit to find clues regarding that question. Once this ability is used, the Player must choose one of the questions from the case, the Host will provide the Player with a list of 4 locations where 2 of those locations will provide clues regarding that question. Should this ability be used when there are less than 4 locations left to visit for the Player, the Host will simply inform the Player which locations has the clues he needs to answer that question. (x1) (x0)

[Active - Call Lestrade!] - Sherlock has a few connections in his life, one of them is Inspector Lestrade, a famous detective that works in Soctland Yard and that usually listens and respects Holmes' opinions and even requests from time to time, even employing the action of the men of the Scotland Yard to go after Sherlock's suspects. Once this ability is used, the Player will ask for Lestrade's help to stop one the players, a player that has been stopped can't visit a location for that round, but can still use abilities. (x2) (x0)

[Active - Chemistry Enthusiast] - Sherlock has great knowledge in many scientific areas, but among them he has a special interest in chemistry, either because of the many cases were he has dealt with poisons and substances or because of his own addictions to drugs that help calm his racing mind. Once this ability is used, the Player must choose another player to inject a low amount of a substance that causes the recipient to become stunned, a player that has been stunned can't use any of his abilities for that round, but can still visit a location. (x2) (x1)

[Active - Mind Palace] - Sherlock has a great memory and is able to recollect the smallest of details by using a psychological technique called the Mind Place. Once this ability is used, the Player must choose a location that he has yet to visit, Sherlock will reflect on that location using his Mind Palace and recollect any clues left in that place from his previous visits, without having to actually visit the location. After using this ability, Sherlock is still able to visit a location in that round normally, essentially getting two clues in one round. This extra "visit" won't show up in the visit counter. (x1) (x0)
You're Benoit Blanc!

The modern day world renowned detective with a quirky personality and a talent for understanding how people think and feel.

"I’m here because someone dodged a very important question."

As such, you have the following abilities:
[Passive - Theory Crafter] - Blanc has a very interesting method to solving his cases, he likes to make multiple impulsive theories and then start eliminating them with the clues and the interrogation. For this reason, while the other players can only fail at guessing the correct answer to the questions once, Blanc can fail twice without being removed from the game, that only happens if he fails his third try.

[Active - There's a hole at the center of this Doughnut!] - Blanc has great intuition and is able to notice when there's something missing in his theories, something that makes it all click. Once Blanc has failed at guessing the correct answer to the questions at least once, the Player will be able to activate this ability and ask the Host what he got wrong from that guess. The Host will inform the Player which questions he got right and which questions he got wrong. (x1) (x0)

[Active - Southern Charm] - Blanc has a very eccentric charming personality, especially because of his southern accent, people always seem to lower their guards around him and reveal information they didn't want to. Once this ability is used, the Player will conjure a WU in the main game thread that will reveal what Blanc has uncovered by talking to the other players, this WU will reveal the actual state of the game, including the number of clues that each player has gathered so far (which sometimes won't be the same as the number of places they visited) and also reveal the players who already tried to submit the answers and got it wrong. But, because of Blanc's ability to manipulate others with his words and metaphors, the Player will get to choose his number of clues and if he has guessed the answer or not in the WU. (x1) (x0)

[Active - Gentleman's Reputation] - Blanc, just like many other renowned detectives in history, has a great reputation and a number of contacts with the police, security agencies and even the press, from time to time he can request the help of these contacts to solve a case. Once this ability is used, the Player will choose another player to be the target of a lot of pressure made by Blanc's contacts, the target hit with this ability will be challenged to an RPS, if he loses he will become silenced for two rounds, a player that has been silenced can't submit their answers to the host. If the Player is the one that loses the RPS, he will become silenced for that round. (x2) (x1)

[Active - Knives Out] - Blanc usually gets involved in active cases where things are still developing as the investigation goes on, so he always has his guards up and adapts depending on what happens. Once this ability is activated, all abilities that targets the Player for that round will be redirected at someone else chosen by the Player. (x3) (x0)
You're Goro Akechi!

The young prodigy detective known as the second coming of the Detective Prince.

"Well, because I'm a psychic, of course. Haha, I'm only joking. In truth, I'm a rookie detective."

[Active - Wild Card] - Akechi is a persona user and he can access the Metaverse like many. He is also a part of a select group of people that possess the WIld Card Ability, which lets him use multiple personas and their different abilities. Once this ability is used, the Player will choose another player as a target and randomly copy one of their abilities as an one shot. Despite players only being able to use one ability per Actions Phase, the Player can choose to use the copied ability right away on the same phase they did the copying, but if they choose to keep it and use it at a later phase, then that copied ability will count as their action for that phase. (x2) (x0)

[Active - Metaverse Manipulation] - Akechi can manipulate other people by finding their shadow inside the Metaverse and attacking them, he is capable of changing their state of mind or even causing death, depending on what he chooses to do. Once this ability is used, the Player will choose another player as a target and then choose one of the three following methods to achieve the desired effect. (x3) (x0)
-- [Lumina Saber] A toy energy sword that becomes a deadly light saber inside the Metaverse. Targets attacked with this weapon will be stunned, a player that has been stunned can't use any abilities for that round.
-- [Moebius] A toy ray gun that becomes real inside the Metaverse. Targets attacked with this weapon will receive a warning shot and will be stopped, a player that has been stopped can't visit any locations for that round.
-- [Eigaon] Akechi uses his persona Robin Hood to conjure a pillar of darkness at the feet of his target, cursing them. Targets attacked with this ability will be silenced, a player that has been silenced can't submit their answers for the host that round.

[Active - Loki: Maeiga] - Once Akechi reveals his true identiy, he stops using Robin Hood as his main persona and instead uses Loki, the God of Trickery. Akechi can then conjure a a pillar of darkness at the feet of all the players, cursing all of them. Once this ability is used, all actions after this one will have their targets randomized, any actions that target the Player will be randomly redirected at another player. (x2) (x1)

[Active - Mementos Exploration] - Akechi can also enter Mementos, a special palace in the Metaverse that is the incarnation of the collective unconscious. Once this ability is used, Akechi will visit Mementos during the actions phase and investigate, the Player will choose one of the locations to investigate in Mementos to get an extra clue for that round, this visit won't show up in Visit Counters. (x1) (x0)
You're Mystery Incorporated!

As such, you have the following abilities:
[Active - Fred's Traps] - Fred, despite being the leader of the group, is always focused on making traps, to the point that he completely forgets about the case or whats happening around him. Once this ability is used, the Player can choose a location for Fred to set up his trap, the trap will stay active until a player visits that location and falls for the trap, the victim of the trap will be stopped from looking at the clue from that location and won't be able to get a clue in that round. Also, the Player is immune from stepping on Fred's traps. (x3) (x0)

[Active - Velma's Smarts] - Velma is known for her intelligence and ability to solve the cases, for many fans Velma basically does all the work herself. Velma is also very good with her electronics and searching the internet to find clues and understanding what's happening around them. Once this ability is activated, the Player will be notified of all submitted actions for this round after this one and they will get to choose if they want to cancel them or let them pass. (x1) (x0)

[Active - Mystery Machine] - The Mystery Machine is a van owned by Fred who has made a few modifications on it, including many traps, the group uses it all the time during their adventures. Once this ability is used, the Player will activate a button in the glove compartment to eject the group and dodge all actions targeting them for that round, the Player will be immune from actions by other players who target him. (x2) (x0)

[Passive - Damsel in Distress] - For some reason, Daphne is always getting herself caught and taken by the villains, causing a lot of worry to the rest of the group. At the start of the game, Daphne is captured and is hidden in one of the locations, and every time a new round starts the captor takes Daphne to another location that the Player has yet to visit. Should the Player find Daphne in one of those locations when visiting, they will free her from her captor and recover the winning spirit for the entire group. During the next round all the other players will be silenced and actionless, which means they won't be able to use any abilities or submit their answers to the host, but they will still be able to visit locations.
-- [Active - Scooby Snacks] - After saving Daphne, she can offer Scooby and Shaggy some snacks and give them courage to visit a location by themselves. Once this ability is activated, the Player can choose to send them to visit a location and find an extra clue for that round. Those extra visits won't show up in the visit counter. (x2) (x0)
You're Batman (Bruce Wayne)!

A reclusive billionaire, owner of Wayne Enterprises and the vigilante known as Batman. After a tragic past, Bruce swore vengeance against all the criminals of Gotham City.

“Fear is a tool. When that light hits the sky, it’s not just a call. It’s a warning.”

As such, you have the following abilities:
[Passive - Batsuit] - The Batman always wears his Batsuit when in action, a protective armor that gives him formidable defense to all manner of attacks. Because of this ability Batman can never be stunned, any attempts to try to stop Batman from using his abilities will fail, which means the Player will always get to use his abilities every round.

[Active - Taser Gloves] - As part of his Batsuit, the Batman wears gloves that can discharge an electric shock to his chosen target, incapacitating them. Once this ability is used, the Player must choose one player to be the target of Batman's taser, the player hit with this gadget will become stunned, a player that has been stunned can't use any of his abilities for that round, but can still visit a location. (x2) (x0)

[Active - Grappling Gun] - The Batman can use a grappling gun that can be summoned from his gauntlets, while usually he uses this tool for traversal, it can also be used to tie and hold his opponents. Once this ability is used, the Player must choose one player to be the target of Batman's grappling gun, the player hit with this gadget will become stopped, a player that has been stopped can't visit a location for that round, but can still use abilities. (x2) (x0)

[Active - Batmobile] - The Batman uses a modified black 1969 Dodger Charger as his Batmobile, a monster of metal, destruction and speed. Once this ability is used, the Player becomes immune to the stop effect for that round and gets to visit two locations instead of one by travelling in this vehicle. This extra visit won't show up in the visit counter. (x1) (x0)

[Active - Fear The Dark Knight] - The Batman has a deal with Jim Gordon, a member of the police department of Gothan City, where they setup a Bat Signal for Gordon to call the Batman's help when needed. After some time using this device, the criminals of the city started fearing the signal, once that light hits the sky the fear spreads. Once this ability is activated, all players will be challenged to a RPS and anyone that fails the RPS will be silenced for that round, a player that has been silenced can't submit their answers for the host. (x1) (x0)
You're L (Lawliet)!

The mysterious international genius detective that solves cases remotely and in complete anonymity.

“He, who attacks first, always wins.”

As such, you have the following abilities:
[Passive - Anonymous] - L usually operates remotely and in complete anonymity, he uses Watari to visit locations for him and send his messages, as such L is a really hard target to find. Because of this ability, the Player will be immune to any actions that target him until he is found. On the first day, a WU will show up in the main game thread saying that L is also trying to solve the case and that he is immune to all actions until he is found. Then, on every round, one of the other 5 players will be chosen randomly to answer the question of who L is in their PM role, if they get it wrong L keeps his immunity, if they get it right a WU in the main game thread will announce that L was found and his immunity is lost. But remember, none of the players are allowed to claim or hint at their roles, abilities or clues, and this also includes that they can't claim or hint that they were asked who L is. They are allowed to point fingers and say who they think L is in the thread, but even if someone gets the answer correctly in the thread, that won't break L's immunity until they give that answer to the Host if they are the chosen player for that round. The same player won't be asked again until an entire rotation of all 5 players has been made.

[Active - Camera Surveillance] - Because of his reputation, L has a lot of power and contacts over international agencies and even local forces, so he can make requests that allow him to solve the case. Once this ability is used, the Player will choose one of the locations to ask the local police to setup a number of cameras on the premise, once a player visits that location they will be challenged to a RPS, if the Player wins they get to see that location's clue without having to visit themselves. If more than one player visits that location on the same round for the first time since the cameras were set, all of them will be under the effect of this ability, once that round is over, the security system is disabled. (x2) (x0)

[Active - FBI Agents] - The primary agency that works and listens to L's requests is the FBI, sometimes offering him a number of agents to follow his orders and help solve the case. Once this ability is used, the Player gets to choose a target and send an FBI agent to that person and cause one of the effects: Stop, Stun or Silence. A player that has been stopped can't visit any locations for that round. A player that has been stunned can't use any abilities for that round. A player that has been silenced can't submit their answers for the host that round. (x3) (x0)

[Active - Media Trap] - Sometimes L can even request control over the media to make official statements in the name of the investigation. Once this ability is used, the Player can create a fake WU of his own choosing to be published in the main game thread by the Host, any player that quotes the WU will have their information sent to the Player's role pm. This information includes the number of clues they have collected so far (which can differ from the number of locations they visited), if they've already tried answering the questions of the case and failed. The Player then gets to choose one of the players that has failed answering the questions and see what their answers were. (x1) (x0)
You're Jessica Jones!

The private investigator with superhuman abilities, street wise, snarky personality, alcohol addiction and a traumatic past.

"Don't try to be a hero. It's a shitty job."

As such, you have the following abilities:
[Passive - Enhanced Physiology] - Jessica is incredibly powerful physically, no matter if her enemies try to hold her, trap her, tie her, hurt her, nobody can stop her. Because of this ability, Jessica can never be stopped, any attempts at trying to stop Jessica's movements will fail, which means the Player will always get to visit a location every round.

[Active - Stunning Strike] - Jessica learned how to control her strength, so that she wouldn't accidentally kill people with her powers, allowing her to do controlled strikes to temporarily discombobulate her targets. Once this ability is used, the Player must choose one player to be the target of Jessica's strike, the player hit with this attack will become stunned, a player that has been stunned can't use any of his abilities for that round, but can still visit a location. (x2) (x0)

[Active - Disabling Punch] - Just like the Stunning Strike, Jessica can control the amount of strength used so that she doesn't kill people, allowing her to do a stronger attack that temporarily disables people from moving. Once this ability is used, the Player must choose one player to be the target of Jessica's punch, the player hit with this attack will become stopped, a player that has been stopped can't visit a location for that round, but can still use abilities. (x2) (x0)

[Active - Quid pro quo] - Jessica is very good at making people talk, her intimidating presence and powers allow her to get any information she wants, but when dealing with friends or fellow investigators she usually helps them out in exchange for their favor. Once this ability is used, the Player must choose one player to exchange clues with. the Player must choose another player who has visited at least two locations she hasn't and that player must also have not visited at least one of the locations Jessica visited. But, because of her intimidating presence, Jessica is the one that gets to choose which locations' clues she wants from her target and also which clue of her's she wants to give to the target. (x1) (x0)

[Active - Social Engineering] - After investigating and understanding people for so long, Jessica has become really good at faking and manipulating people to get the information she needs to solve a case. Once this ability is used, the Player must choose three locations where Jessica will call and try to trick them into giving her information about those places, the Host will then inform the Player of what type of clues are in those locations, what questions from the case do they help solve. (x1) (x0)

[Passive - Killgrave Commands (PTSD)] - If a certain event happens, Jessica's PTSD will trigger and she will release her uncontrolled rage. Hearing the words from Killgrave in her mind:

"You want to do it. You know you do."
For that round, Jessica will...[LOCKED]
@Flower here's your locked "ability" (more like a nerf):

[Passive - Killgrave Commands (PTSD)] - If Jessica is stunned twice, Jessica's PTSD will trigger and she will release her uncontrolled rage. Hearing the words from Killgrave in her mind:

"You want to do it. You know you do."
For that round, Jessica will unleash her strength and destroy one of the locations she has yet to visit, making it inaccessible to not only her, but also all the players. The location will be chosen as one of the places that Jessica has yet to visit and also the one that has the highest number of visitors.

After having this episode, Jessica will also turn weaker, losing her Enhanced Physiology passive for the rest of the game.

Final True State of the Game
I

Indigo

The final true state of the game:

Flower - 13 ( Bank, Park, Library, University, Hotel, Carriage Station, Scotland Yard, Docks, Bar, Pawn Shop, Museum, Locksmith, Pharmacy )
Dr_Professor83 - 11 ( Docks, Bar, University, Pharmacy, Park, Theater, Pawn Shop, Hotel, Carriage Station, Museum, Bank )
Joygirl - 11 ( Pawn Shop, Carriage Station, Scotland Yard, Hotel, Library, Theater, Park, Pharmacy, Bar, Docks, Museum)

Pot Goblin - 10 ( Docks, Bar, Locksmith, Bank, Carriage Station, Theater, Museum, Pawn Shop, Library, Park )
Ratchet - 8 ( Museum, Park, Theater, Carriage Station, Docks, Bank, Hotel, University )

Fujishiro, and Joygirl have guessed the answers once and got them wrong!

Ratchet guessed the answers twice and got them wrong! so they were removed from the game!

The other players have not attempted to guess the answers!

I

Indigo

Charlie almost chose Prof as L, but then changed it to Fujishiro

then Flower kept saying Prof was L, and when the time came for Flower to be the one to answer, they changed it to Charlie (i think because of how much Charlie was trying to solve the L thing on the thread lmao)

Charlie's Fear The Dark Knight ability silences everyone that loses RPS to him, first time he used it he got only 2 players out of 6

last round he got 4 players out of 5, that was wild

I

Indigo

There were some interactions happening that was too funny

like Fuji's true state of the game WU, he could lie about his own state, and he said he guessed wrong early on so that nobody thought he was a threat

but he only finally guessed last round

then Prof used the ability of the fake WU, that anyone that quotes him, he gets the number of clues and if they guessed before

then he can choose one player to see their answers, but Prof didn't want to choose Fuji, because he thought Fuji's guess was form early on in the game when Fuji lied on his state of the game lmao

but since nobody quoted anymore, Prof went with Fuji anyway, and got the info he needed

There were some interactions happening that was too funny

like Fuji's true state of the game WU, he could lie about his own state, and he said he guessed wrong early on so that nobody thought he was a threat
