It's a bit difficult with how the story's gone post-TS. I still see BB as Luffy's ultimate final rival due to his intro and how similar they are, being the good/bad versions of the same ideology. Akainu killing Ace made him a Big Bad but could be Sabo's fight... Shanks is Luffy's PK fight, maybe on Laugh Tale, Mihawk for Zoro's final fight. Im is a weird one, we still don't know shit about them but I see it being someone like Dragon's fight potentially.

Worst case scenario is after the story ends we get a bunch of these match-ups (Shanks vs Luffy, Mihawk vs Zoro) that we never actually get to see onscreen.

We all know wg are final opponents - first IMU as final bad villain who played role in wiping Ancient civilization out (a premise on which whole story is kind of based)

Second, roger failed to achieve something after becoming PK - so it's clear story goes beyond getting one piece and has to do with wg.

Akainu vs sabo - Alainu and BB are goated antagonists. Akainu gave perma scar to luffy and killed ace right in front of Luffy.

If anyone deserves to take on Akainu then it's Luffy and not side character like sabo.

BB vs luffy will happen for pk war.


So order for me is BB - > Akainu -> IMu

Shanks vs BB makes more sense than shanks vs luffy

Not sure how mihawk fits in

Looks like Blackbeard may be clearing the board before fighting Luffy while Morgan’s is trying to ignite war between Luffy and Akainu

1) arabasta arc Mr. 2 didnt see Sanji. Then Mr. 2 vs Sanji. Don't tell me that Kizaru will fight Sanji later

4) 4B Luffy is coming up

Luffy beating a swordsman isnt something that we will see in One Piece, no point wishing for it. Zoro is created for that purpose, to beat people that Luffy cant.

It makes me wonder, how does the story end? Do the Straw Hats get the final poneglyph at Elbaf, the Big War against the Government takes place, and then they set sail for Laugh Tale? Does Luffy finally take on Shanks after all's said and done?

There's genuinely too many moving parts for me to make a call on how it'll go. Hopefully we keep getting plot after plot chapters and things start to tie together over 2023. I don't really understand Oda's direction but it's his story so we'll just have to wait and see.

Zolo was negged by Kaido and Luffy beat him. So go to a hospital and get yourself treated or else you'll be harming yourself and others around you because of your illness. Zolo is a one shot material for Luffy's main fights. There's not even one character whom Zolo would not get one shot by that Luffy can't beat.

Yeah, from a common sense POV, I completely agree, and was pretty much the way I thought the story would go. But to try and think outside the box, I've been trying to work out how things would go if we assume Laugh Tale is the end of the whole series.

If you think about this, then wouldn't it make sense for the WG/Im to make a move on Luffy and the SH's once they get wind of him having all the poneglyphs, or even Morgans' story he's trying to spin being the catalyst for the war? Under those circumstances, I could see the WG being destroyed and then Luffy finally heading off to finish his voyage.

I'm not sure what I think the One Piece is yet. I used to think it was some sort of weapon that'd destroy the Red Line, alongside Joyboy's explanation of what happened in the Void Century and whatever he failed at. But I've been leaning towards the idea of One Piece being Binks' Sake/unlimited food, and Joyboy's message being some shit like "Congratulations on uniting the seas and achieving world peace! Enjoy this treasure! If not, what the fuck are you doing here? Go do that shit!"

I really don't know the part as to why Roger and the boys laughed so hard and were too early, but maybe it was something along those lines, maybe something to do with the Nika fruit. I think of Oda/this series as a massive troll, and that the ending of OP is meant to be something funny and absurd, like Gear 5. But I can see an ending where Luffy unintentionally completed the journey of what One Piece is, through his good nature, actions and befriending people along the way, destroying Maryjoa/Reverse Mountain, raising Fishman Island to the surface etc. All the things that need to be done to unite the world.

Man, what began as a great arc is really starting to drag. Bonney has really been getting on my nerves lately of chasing Vegapunk away and staring at the Kuma bubble for like 3-4 chapters now.
