Your ability's effectiveness depends on how well you can use it in battle. Kuma's DF is more broken than GB's on paper, but Kuma isn't beating GB in a fight even if he'd got his brain back. S-Hawk has limitless potential and a better aptitude to grow faster. We don't even know if he can't use Haki. Kuma's biggest feat is using an island-wide shock wave. S-Hawk's legit introduced with mountain-busting feats.

And I don't think Oda will let them lose or die given how he is writing them to be 'strong' contenders for PK throne.
