lol same with asstra. I mean she's been nerfed multiple times and from the very beginning. While she was the best phoenix was the worst and his buff was almost nothing lol. The funny thing is I've been aware of Overwatch since it's come out and until now I've never even seen this chick. it's probably they cant nerf her enough and she's probably the last black character we will get.
I mean doomfist seems iconic and the main antagonist but if I had to guess he probably hasn't been meta for over a decade. I bet most of the new characters in the last 5 to six years are characters that just do what doomfist does but way better. I'm just guessing but that's how things normally go.
I'm thinking the only exception is Eko or echo in league of legend. Cause he's a kid I'm sure his meta days are over but I imagine he's still a decent character.

I wasn't gonna say anything while passing through this thread but this last post baited me, congrats. I'm not going to pretend that black characters aren't done dirty in media all the time gaming included but if this is your motivation for starting overwatch or any game really then you're doing it for the wrong reasons. This seriously comes off as some pathetic whining. You sit here and say you've been aware of overwatch since it came out, yet you've never seen Sojourn, needlessly spinning it into a racial issue. You probably haven't seen her because she didn't get into the game until overwatch 2 was announced, she's one of the most recent additions to a sequel so it's not surprising you haven't seen her. Doomfist was released YEARS ago and he was the best character in the game for a while unquestionably. He didn't receive nerfs because he's black, he received nerfs because he was fucking toxic to play against. The man could literally one shot any dps or support in the game with a punch that moved at the speed of light that had the hit box the size of a fucking truck. Hopefully I don't need to sit here and explain why that is unhealthy for the game. Also no character has come out since that does anything even remotely close to what doomfist does even all these years later and that's with a rework from dps to tank. By design he's just a polarizing character. When he's good, he's utterly insufferable to play against and when he's bad, he's nearly unplayable. "Hasn't been meta for over a decade"... it hasn't even been a decade since the FIRST game came out and doom has been meta relevant numerous times. You're literally using race to create a problem with this game that simply does not exist. Pretty sad that you can't just enjoy the game for what it is instead of creating issues to complain about.
Soldier's skin is pretty lazy, probably because it's free tbh. I like the kiriko skin but when you really look take a closer look, it's really not that different from her default look. Just colored the outfit black and threw on some green hair. Not worth the 20 bucks they're asking. If I had to guess, there probably aren't many more skins if any at all, I think they would have advertised them by now since the event starts tomorrow.
Yeah it's mostly just there to get people to actually want to play the game. I will say it's better than previous events they've had for OW2, blizzard has been pretty fuckin bad when it comes to monetization with this game ever since the move to F2P but this is like a half step in the right direction I guess. Now if only they'd reduce the prices of skins to half of what they are now
Blizzard has been making quite a few bad calls when it comes to additional content for already well-established games/franchises
