Ratchet

The End and the Beginning
Wait where's the 3rd twilight
On the first twilight, offer the six chosen by the key as sacrifices.
On the second twilight, those who remain shall tear apart the two who are close.
On the third twilight, those who remain shall praise my noble name.
On the fourth twilight, gouge the head and kill.
On the fifth twilight, gouge the chest and kill.
On the sixth twilight, gouge the stomach and kill.
On the seventh twilight, gouge the knee and kill.
On the eighth twilight, gouge the leg and kill.
On the ninth twilight, the witch shall revive, and none shall be left alive.
On the tenth twilight, at journey's end, you shall attain to the power of the Golden Land's treasures, once and for the last time.
The third twilight has no death associated with it, and as such is skipped. This is why I posted the epitaph.

Do i really have to say anything?

your history on indie claiming has been pure terror my friend

trying to pocket people to protect you from Flower and saying "let the past be the past" isn't great either for me

You said you were pro town, but then you said to scum team not do anything to you, because you would just solve the case

how would you just solving the case be good for town? if you're gonna be taking the prize for yourself

and even when you pro town indie, you love becoming a traitor to town and just turning it into your own cult

your slot is gonna need to go
My 1st wincon is true neutral. Which is the one I’m playing for. Because it’s easier and more self reliant than trusting Town to win the game. If I can’t achieve it I have an alternative wincon that’s pro town (town wins & I survive).

I almost got a strike last time I betrayed Town as a pro town indie, from Ratchet, who is co hosting. You think he’d let me do it again?

do we post the answer in our role pm?

also is the reward only given to the first person to solve it?
From the opening post explaining this mechanic...

What says "Valentine's" like a brutal murder mystery?

In this game, starting from Day 1, every cycle a scenario will be posted, for a total of 3 scenarios. To guide you, certain text spoken by characters will be coloured in either Red or Purple. The Red Text means that the statement is true, and you don't require any further evidence of that. The Purple is the same as the red - with a couple of twists. Most notably, the Culprit(s) can lie using the Purple Text. Also, Purple can refer to beliefs held by a character. Examining the wording is crucial, as you attempt to deduce who might be trying to lead you astray.

A list of characters present in every scenario will be posted at the start of it. Once per cycle, you may submit a guess as to who the cluprit is. If you are correct, you, and everyone who guesses correctly, will win a prize. If no one solves a mystery, it will roll over to the next day, which means at most you can submit three guesses in any given cycle - one for each scenario. For the final scenario, you must also explain how the murders were done... assuming it is possible for a Human to have made them. Alongside every scenario, you may guess that "Beatrice" is the culprit. There will be no prize for this, unless the mystery is truly unsolveable with the human cast.

Any further rules around the mystery game will be listed in each scenario. If you have any questions, you are to direct them via your role PMs. Ths post may be updated if anything glaring is missing.
I would surmise we do send answers in via PM, and it's not just the first one to guess it who will receive a prize.

Murder Mystery Scenario #1 - Elegy of the Golden Witch - Finale

Ratchet

The End and the Beginning
"And so we come to the end. And with it, some red truths to guide you. Some of this will have been repeated before.

The purple text has the same power as the red. That is, anything said in Purple can be treated as a fact. However, the Culprit may use the Purple to lie.

Kanon is not the culprit. His circumstances are unique, so once Shannon died, he was removed from the island, as if he simply vanished... To confirm, Kanon neither killed nor was he killed. He simply ceased to exist.

A Culprit here is defined as a character who kills at least one person over the course of the story. Of course, there can be more than one culprit.

No one can use the purple to aid a culprit. I will say it in Red again - anyone using the purple is speaking the truth, except for anyone that is a culprit, who could use it to lie. The culprit can lie in retrospect - they do not have to have killed at the point in the story in which they lie. They need only kill at some point.

There are 17 people on the island. They are servants - Shannon, Kanon, Gohda, Genji, Kumasawa. Then there are the children of Kinzo - Eva, Krauss, Rudolf, Rosa. Their spouses, Kyrie, Hideyoshi and Natsuhi are also present. Of course, so are their children - Battler, George, Jessica and Maria. Lastly, Kinzo's friend Nanjo is also present. Kinzo is dead, so that makes 17.

Oh, it's too hard for you? I don't usually do this, but I will give you a hint. From the start to the finish, 11 characters are murdered.

And also...

All doors can only be locked or unlocked with a master key. Of course, it is possible to lock or unlock the doors from inside the room even without a master key.

We'll consider master keys to be the only keys that exist. There are five master keys total.

One is held by each of the five servants. The servants keep master keys on their person at all times, so it is impossible for them to be stolen, handed over, or used by any human other than themselves.

All of the windows had steel bars on them, so it's impossible to enter or leave by them. Therefore, we'll say that they can seal the whole mansion by sealing the two doors, the front one and the back one. The culprit of the first twilight (first set of murders) really did kill at least 5 people.

The group sealed the room at the same time they left. No culprit joined the group as they left. Also, all of the seals on Natsuhi's room, the dining hall, and the mansion itself will not be broken. To be clear, this refers to rooms being sealed when they are mentioned to have been sealed. If a room was not mentioned as sealed, or is mentioned having being sealed later, that is when it is sealed, this red exists purely to debunk the idea that anyone could enter or leave the rooms between lines of text..

......Besides that, I guess there's only 'the Reader will tell no lies'. In other words, outside of spoken statements, there are no lies in the narration.

And also...

There are no suicides, and no mutual killings.

There are no poisons used, and no trap murders.

Every murder was done with the murderer in the same room as the murdered. There are no body doubles, no mystery person x, no mystery gadget x, and no accidental deaths.

This entire mystery follows all of Knox's 10 Commandments.
"

So then..

Who is the Culprit?

Yes, and:
You can submit your guesses at any point in time, but remember that you only get one per cycle per scenario. Once someone has guessed correctly, at the end of the phase the winner will be announced, and the solution will be revealed. That means if you want to also win, you will need to submit a correct guess in the same phase.

Wait so there's 6 unmurdered characters

The 3 left alive, the guy who inexplicably disappeared, and ?

That's 2 people who weren't actually killed?

There’s assuredly more town than scum. So if everyone gets rewarded for solving it, we should all solve it together lol. (Not that I’d be biased at all).
i had a similar thought, as well as work together to find each others soulmates but i think its too risky

we dont know what the rewards r and how they might benefit scum so its probs better not to just in case they arent able to solve it together anyway

Scum have the benefit of coordinating anyway so I don't agree. Scum can also have their individual members guess differently and probably come out with at least one person who benefits.

Uh, not really, but I'm compiling info rn. Gonna start posting shit to the thread to make it easier to digest/oragnized.

For starters:

1. Krauss - Killed 2nd Twlight
2. Eva - Killed 1st Twilight
3. Rudolf - Killed 1st Twilight
4. Rosa - Killed 1st Twilight
5. Natsuhi - Killed 2nd Twilight
6. Hideyoshi - Killed 1st Twilight
7. Kyrie - Killed 1st Twilight
8. Jessica - Killed 8th Twilight
9. George
10. Battler
11. Maria
12. Najo - Killed 7th Twlight
13. Genji - Killed 1st Twilight
14. Shannon - Killed 4th Twilight
15. Kanon - Disappeared & Def Not Culprit
16. Gohda - Killed 5th/6th Twilight
17. Kumasawa - Killed 5th/6th Twilight

But in red it says from start to finished 11 characters were murdered.. so something is fucked up. I'm going to start compiling Purple/Red Truths and how they tie together and where Red contradicts Purple and where Purple could have issues.

I wonder if Blue and Ratchet are viable date option
A date with Blue-dono gee wizz

Nope :daydream:

Might as well get the cat out of the bag now lol.
I am pro town though. Am here to solve these mystery cases, or alternatively help town win if I job at doing that.

@scum I don’t want beef, I’d prefer just to solve my cases & go. You can just let me be. Am Kawaii.

Town… I swear this won’t be a repeat of last time
Bold after what happened in Blue's last game lmao
Gotta respect it honestly
