Usually the judges have to explain their reasoning in great detail. No short sticking people. They explain thoroughly what a debater did right / wrong in presenting their arguments before a final verdict. An anonymous vote just leaves it open to fans of the character to swarm them.
I could give a shit argument for Zoro here and probably beat Sentinel in a debate when he's arguing for Katakuri just because we're a very Zoro biased community.

Aye, figured that. It's bound to get repetitive though. I'd much rather for my arguments to be judged by someone who makes it to top tier in @Cinera's arena posters ranking, then someone low tier lmao.
The idea is good. I've been thinking about recommending @Bogard something like this, or a debater of the month. But this is probably the better option. It's at least far less biased. A reward can be like a tag of the winner's choosing. I think it would spark up interest and work as a nice incentive to step up your game.

Usually you debate for the sole perk of being smug over the other person for a month. It's all for shits and giggles and sometimes feeling will get hurt. I wouldn't wanna debate for any awards or shit. Just the satisfaction of it.
You could always just ask Cinera and 2 others you trust to judge your debate Light, assuming your opponent is okay with it.

So we're talking about the same thing here? Someone you trust to give your debate a thorough read and thought out answer? I dunno why Cinera's tier list would need to be factored in for you. It's not like we don't have plenty of good and reliable powerscalers here to pick from. I ain't asking you to dig up Kiiro's corpse and have him judge your debates.

All these sound like very common topics which have been debated to death. I don't think we wanna start off with these because I feel like essays people would write on them would be boring for a lot of people.
