@Shimotsuki Ghostly @lee33

Here it is. Oda is finally back. I was afraid that he will give Shanks the Big Mom/Kaido treatment, but no! He exceeded my wildest imaginations!
I expected something like this from Shanks; He is cool if you are good, but can destroy you in seconds if he gets angry.

Kid could never win in a close range fight.
Kid can be a good support in a fight, like he supported Law. It is what it is.

So far, enjoying post Wano One Piece.
@BleakAsh This is what I wanted from One Piece. It always had the potential, but for some reasons, Oda was holding back.
I feel like Oda wrote himself in a corner and any decision he takes is going to be the bad. Kidd obviously should have been written out of the story much sooner however Oda has already wasted way too much time on him in Wano and then gave him copies of the poneglyphs so now it is the same question we asked about Yamato, what was the point of wasting our time with this character. Kidd added nothing to the story. Oda only knows how to write hype. Having characters actually have depth rather than just hype is something he has no how to write. I don't like it when Oda sacrifices other characters in order to hype up another character. That to me is terrible writing.

You gotta admit one thing. He finally did something that should be done even if this late.

When I kept reading this fucking "nEw gEnErAtIoN is coming:laughmoji:" I was cringing as fuck.

Who with the normal and not corrupted set of brain cells even thought for a minute that Shanks will get harmed in any way by Kidd. This is just beyond me.

As much as bad writing decision it looks like I appreciate it and I hope Oda will soon follow with Law and the rest of irrelevant fucks to clean the pathway for the endgame without spending too much time on irrelevant characters.

Well, he's Oda's self insert after all, there's no way he's gonna make him struggle
And since this is Kidd, not Luffy, I don't think he's going to get back up

I agree writing Kidd off from the story is the right decision but man we had 1000+ chapters already and Oda continues to waste our time with all these new characters that are just there for filler. Kidd should have been written off from the story a long time ago. These types of chapters just proves further to me that Oda only creates characters for hype moments where these characters are completely irrevelant to the plot.

Like compare this rivalry to One Piece:

characters have depth, they go through character arcs, they have balance, and the most important thing is that they are relevant to the plot which Kidd is not. Why create all these characters for if they aren't relevant to the story. Just hype hype hype. It's terrible.

That's what One Piece has become. It has flaws already before the timeskip but most of us were younger and we didn't understand what good writing was/wasn't.

Luffy vs Crocodile is basically new world's Luffy vs Kaido.

This ^

Now, if there is no progress after these events and we get another filler arc, then yes, it was for cheap shock value.
For example, if somehow Kid survives and start Haki training on Elbaf, etc. @lee33

I want a middle ground.
Have Kidd or Killer (not both but one of them) actually bite the dust or end up crippled for good. The crew should remain lost.

The other becomes a rogue independent party training on Elbaf and returning to the final battle.

Preferably Kidd, cause he desperately needs that reality check as to what his actions have done and wisen up.

People are forgetting that it took Kidd and Law combine plus a bunch of bombs for them to beat Big Mom. There is no way Kidd could solo a yonko. Especially the strongest one. Law is putting up a better fight because Luffy and BB are the weakest of the yonko.

There is also something I have been saying for a while.
Law has the Hax and Kidd has the brute force.
Law has much more variable to how he can fight whereas Kidd can only get so far relying on trying to just overpower enemies.
Especially now that we are at the end game and seemingly, we are going more and more into this specific territory where it's all about higher powers over brute force.

Brute force aint getting anywhere now with what kind of powers are at work.
