Character Discussion The reason Zoro’s fights suck in the anime NOW compared to start of Wano

#1
It’s because the animators now know how badly Zoro was written in the arc.

I think Wano started with everyone, animators included, thinking this was gonna be a big Zoro arc. Hence why Act 1 and Act 2 of the anime gave Zoro entire filler fights that were even better animated than his final fight. Literally there are about 5 entire fight sequences that don’t even exist in the manga just given to Zoro just to flex animation for him in act 1 and Act 2.

Then when Act 3 was getting started, the arc was ending and everyone, animators included realized, “Oh shit, this isn’t Zoro’s arc”… Hence why this King fight is so bad, they realised they were wasting time and animation on an unimportant character

Hiryu Kaen was decent. Rest werent all that.
If they ruin King of Hell we were super baited.

Look at early Wano vs Fodders Tatsumaki & Rooftop/King ones. Difference is obvious.
But that doesn't have anything to do with zoro hate or some shit like that because that includes the others the auras or the animation of attacks it ruins is true and I felt like this since post TS start
But this depends on people tastes hakai or Asura were pretty awesome I also loved the tiger hunt against King and yeah i was dissapointed last week this week was better I guess with pre TS animation fights would been better

No...its just because anime production is difficult.

It has literally nothing to do with the animators liking or disliking the content necessarily.

The anime is entering a series of back to back climaxes. That is always incredibly difficult to handle. You have to also consider staff rotations and the such as well.

Its an entirely logistical issue.

And even then, the latest episode of the fight was mostly inoffensive. It wasn't a great episode by any stretch of the imagination, but its not like we became Dragon Ball Super where the production was imploding. It was still quite animated, and there was a high level of art consistency.

Your theory is just flat out wrong.

(Also, King is just very hard to draw. Not many animators I've seen actually like his design, thats also somewhat a part of it).

Or maybe, just maybe, because there are too many fights packed into one stretch the animators can't give every single episode S tier animation.
This is the correct explanation.

That tweet you linked is hilariously bad and wrong?

How the fuck is Henry Thurlow responsible for this fight having some dodgy moments? He hasn't worked on a single episode of the fight.

I feel people misremember what most of Zoro's fights were like pre-time skip. Poor guy only had one really excellent final fight pre-time skip, and that was against Mr 1.(and even then, that was entirely, art, storyboard and episode direction)
