He went to the conference finals though... Anyway, they might have to trade him now if they're going to get Scoot even though that's gonna suck for Blazers fans because they actually got a superstar who was loyal
For Warriors fans, they'll probably get Draymond back! He won the feud after all (MJ meme: "Fuck 'em youth movement" insert here) Although I don't know how to feel about my boi CP3 going to the Warriors. Probably gonna be a better version of Shaun Livingston with the midrange and defense but he can shoot 3s as well. Ugh

Portland imho made it to the WCF that season primarily on the fact that the Nuggets at that time w/ Jokic and Murray had 0 playoff experience or sense of urgency yet they still managed to push it to a very close Game 7 despite shtting their pants almost every other play. Even more jarring they nearly lost in the 1st Round to the Spurs if Patty Mills wasn't so intent on starting family vacation early.
Lillard's best team throughout his career was easily 2013-14 in his 2nd season. A really strong starting lineup with All-Star Lamarcus Aldridge, 2 solid 16 PPG scoring wings in Batum/Matthews and a stable C in Robin Lopez (and Mo Williams, rookie CJ McCollum & a young Will Barton). Took down a very good Rockets team that yr (even if that team gets memed to death thanks to Parsons' fatal miscue) and lost to the eventual champs in the Spurs. The 2013-14 would have fared much better than a sweep against the Warriors in the 2019 WCF
Everyone except CJ leaving the Blazers after the 2015 Playoffs is what killed Dame's career trajectory tbh, especially with the Warriors just needing an extra lift after barely losing in 2013-14 to become a dynasty

I get you that it was Jokic and Murray's 1st playoffs but Dame and CJ were better than them that year so I don't want to disrespect him like that (I picked DEN to win that series). As for his best team, I remember liking his 2015 team more because LMA started shooting 3s and I think he was really starting to gel with Dame before he left for SAS. LMA leaving and bad drafting is what got them to underachieve. Like I don't remember who they drafted after CJ that was good for them.
Hoo boy, I know a lot of people in the PNW who are gonna be upset about Lillard finally requesting a trade…but it just wasn’t gonna happen in Portland if it’s meant to happen at all

It was inevitable dating back to 2014-15 in all honesty after Aldridge, Matthews, Batum and Lopez left on the same day in free agency. McCollum becoming solid overnight in 2015-16 basically stalled any rebuilding efforts for Portland until this past week after 2022-23 since having him and Lillard in the backcourt kept the Blazers afloat but never enought to seriously contend

Yeah, the Blazers are the closest team where I am…at least until Seattle gets their own squad again
You’re right, Dame really hasn’t ever had the kind of support that most stars in the league enjoy, he’d have benefited from his franchise making bigger pushes for top dollar talent. Considering that Paul Allen had more money than God while he was alive, there’s no reason they couldn’t have made a splash five or ten years ago (or any point in between)…
