By @EmperorKinyagi @SakazOuki @MarineHQ and @Marine Piece 's definitions, Garp would have 1 shotted Aokiji too by last chapter. He got KOed all the time during Juan Wolf, Vasco Shot and Shiryu vs Garp moments.
For all we know, Kuzan never smirked confidently while Garp attacked him. Yet Shiryu is "one shotted" lmao.

My only real disappointment concerning Shiryu (never expected him to be some Akainu level fighter) is that his ability is really generic invisibility after all these theories about awakening giving the fruit a different power
I don’t think it’s that hype for Zoro to deal with a power pre-timeskip Sanji was able to defeat.(and defeated again in Wano)

Yeah Shiryu vs Zoro is just going to be a swordsman version of Sanji vs Queen as it stands right now.

Well the threat doesn't come from the DF. We have been mistaken all this time. The real threat comes from Shiryu's battle IQ.

Noobs like Absalom would use the DF while attacking blindly in invisible mode. Perverts like Sanji would use it uselessly to peek the women bathroom.

But Shiryu decides to attack Coby to bait Garp. That is his battle IQ, not cheap trick from Invis Invis no Mi. Well actually, Shiryu doesn't even need his DF to attack Coby and baits Garp.
Shiryu could have done what he has done in this chapter without his DF.

Garp clearly knew Shiryu was going to stab Koby, thus moved to shield him.

- CoO expert Koby can't sense Shiryu's presence
- CoA expert Garp can't block Shiryu's blade
- Shiryu laughs after Garp's attack

Now explain Ladmiral clowns, why Garp's Haki wasn't strong enough to block Shiryu's stab when Teach easily blocked SHawk's mountain slash with 1 hand only?

As I told ZKKclowns, Shiryu > Baboon trainer who couldn't damage Jozu and postponed vs Ace's inferior Vista. :cheers:
