I wonder what their crews would have been called

1. We know before the thriller bark pirates Moria lead the gecko pirates
2. Doflamingo the Donquixote Pirates
3. Shanks red haired pirates
4. Buggy had the buggy pirates-> buggy’s delivery service-> cross guild
5. Moria maybe hawk eyed pirates
6. Crocodile idk

They don’t necessarily need to be betrayed as on backstabbed. It could just be struggle to trust and connect to people after losing their crews
Like Moria struggled to connect and trust the living after his previous crew all died. The mysterious 4 being the exception.
Kinda like they can’t trust them to survive so it’s difficult for them to trust in general

But what's clear is that it indeed hinted during Croco conversation with Mihawk that he has a great trust issues.
Mihawk backstories is unknown except rivalry with Shanks. We'll find out more........maybe

After Roger's dead the people who sits at the top of pirate world are the remnants of Rocks pirates - Kaido, BM, WB and Whangzhi( probably) and then Shanks came in power and take him down , this what i believe.
The Rocks remnants rules the sea after Roger dead for a long time, they are at the top and many other strong pirates challenge them but got defeated. This can be easily tell just by headcanon.

Some Warlords are among the victims
Though Mihawk is strange one. Let's see if he got history with other OG Yonko, but i doubt since it will likely only be with Shanks that he has history.....

The more connections and ties mihawk has to the world and it’s characters the better imo

It would be cool if shanks went after silver axe or captain John depending on when he was alive. Shiki would be dope too but his role in the story is weird

Rocks pirates have been ruling the seas
Only Roger was able to rival and surpass them
Shanks rivals but couldn't surpass the big 5 Rocks pirates in piracy.

Warlords seem to all have history with Yonko/Rocks pirates
I wouldn't be surprised if Mihawk also had some history with some Rocks pirates

Based on

1. Mihawk being a rookie pirate back in the day that attended rogers execution with pretty much all of them dreaming of the one piece
2. His reaction to buggy’s speech
3. His similarities to crocodile
4. Moria potentially joining and continuing the pattern
5. Cross guild resemblance to the rocks pirates

The whole crew is pretty much a bunch a people that lost their original ambitions and dreams. All of them settling for less but together they’re able to get that drive back that they had when they were young. It’d be weird if mihawk was the only exception in cross guild
