Nothing happened it is just the insecurity tied to « Kizaru vs Zoro ».
Until the fight is set or until the two characters are shown fighting someone else, all the Egghead spoilers threads gonna be plagued with that war.

Something similar(between the Zoro fans and the Yonko fans) happened before chapter 1000. It toned down until Zoro get off the roof then spiked again after 1035 to finally died down after the seven days timeskip. So get ready for a few months of bickering between some Zoro fans and some Admiral fans

Oda has been making them making big moves
The two big arcs are Beehive and Mariejois
Just like Yonko saga was about Kaido and BM mainly

Shanks, Buggy, are just secondary players

Cross guild is going to make their move only when the stawhats win the last poneglyph. So yeah after Blackbeard but before imu

It’s leading to the final fight for the last poneglyph not the one piece itself. The reason he is getting more focused now is because he’s going to go down first

Blackbeard is secondary just as much as shanks. Also the fact no one but zoro will be allowed to defeat mihawk for his dream. So the strawhats and cross guild have to fight in some way

I personally hoping that Oda finally introduce strong VAs.
Until now the strongest VA (bar Garp for obvious reasons) seen on screen is Vergo, a pirate. So yeah a strong vice-admiral able to compete with top Yonko commanders are need to make the marines a competitive organization, imo
