General & Others At what point does "inspiration" become close to "ripping off"?

Does not really matter.

My One Piece complaints are more about its pacing, fake deaths, lack of clarity in certain aspects (like how Mihawk is #1 while no one else is trying to be the best swordsman except Zoro).

And most important of all, the filler characters and useless plotlines we get in-between arcs like in Wano.

And most of the One Piece fans agree with these issues.

But one thing strange I have noticed in OP community is that they blame the characters for doing something stupid, not the mangaka.
Like recent thread about Shanks not attacking Kaido to save Wano. :risitexcla:

I am okay with getting inspiration of stories which would feel like a good insert/reference but I also expect something better to be done with the story.

You know like there are many manga that pretty much are retelling of some old classic in a different setting and stuff...And the onus falls under how well they can imagine it.

There is a series called Nobunaga concerto(has manga/anime and live action..live action is done a bit differently but great none the less) which is basically a plot about a guy going back to past and the history repeats(actual Japanese history sengoku period) ... Everything is written so well that the past remains the same but the perspective changes as a guy from future is involved...and it might even make you question at some point because few things in history don't make sense but with this time travel it makes sense

It's just fucking annoying when you constantly read the same repetitive BS from someone who simply can't let it go.
I’m gonna be honest here bro, you’re taking it way too serious.
Lee33 is a guy who criticizes OP whenever he gets the opportunity, sometimes he makes great points, other times not so much. Regardless, to me it is always a delight to read the threads he creates and the discussion they generate. Oda has many great problems, and in a OP forum I can appreciate a guy putting in some effort to criticize his work, tho like I said he sometimes fails to do so and his posts are just made out of sheer hate (😂) but he has made great threads too.
Why not just take it as forum entertainment, I doubt you’re someone who’d give two shits about which manga is considered better

Lee is just the product of the toxicity of this forum.
