Yeah well you're full of shit and wrong, Sabo vs Akainu has plenty of credence, and from a character perspective, I'm sure Admiral fans would prefer a serious fight over the absolute bullying and clowning Luffy would give Akainu, reducing him to a pathetic gag, nothing could be worse for a macho character like Akainu.

Like idc if Luffy turns the weed man into a lightbulb but Akainu’s battle should be a dramatic and emotionally heavy one considering what he did.

OR, it will turn out that Akainu has enough Haki to negate Luffy's toon powers. That to me would be the best option, because it would 1) give Luffy emotionally significant fight while 2) reaffirming Akainu's badass credentials.

I think Oda has a good idea on what to do with Akainu. Luffy has always been goofy, but his character does know when to turn serious.
